After two nights where Sammy slept through the night, he did need to be fed at 1:40 in the morning last night. This morning seems so long ago that I can't remember it. At 1:15 pm we had to leave; they had all slept after lunch, and Tammy was still sleeping. I hated waking her up.
We took two subways to our new apartment. Somebody from the building company was meeting us there at 2 pm so we could measure the kitchen. Unfortunately we couldn't have the professionals come in - even though we had already paid for it - as they could only give us 1 hour to do it, and Ikea would have given us a 5-hour window when they'd come. So we did it ourselves today, and still have an appointment with them for after we have received the keys.
At first the babies were okay in the stroller; Sammy was asleep. But it didn't take long before Sammy started crying and the others wanted out. We put blankets on the floor that we put all three on. Of course Tammy and Emmy did not stay on it. One time Tammy hit her head on the floor and we picked her up and took her with us to measure. I can tell you that that one hour did not only go fast, but was also really tough. We measured together, and then I wrote the measurements down. And in between I checked on the babies, or moved them, or helped them, it was a constant back and forth. Very tiring! Let's hope our measurements are any good.
We had a few minutes left and quickly measured the odd-shaped bedroom so we could figure out how to fit in the wardrobe and bed. Finally we went downstairs (with Tammy) to measure the length of the window wall, as we're gonna need curtains there if we don't want everybody to see us.
Then time was up. The lady said her good-byes - after asking about the triplets - and before she left I found out that it was not her that would give us the keys, but somebody else. She told me the name and number was in the papers she emailed me. Once home I immediately tried to call that person, but a voice said that that number was not assigned to anybody. So I emailed the lady from today to ask for the correct phone number. This person is who we need to make an appointment with to sign the contract and get the keys.
On our ride home, Sammy was not happy once again. After a while he just wants to be back home. Randy took him out of the stroller in the first subway, and I in the second. I now know how to make him happy. Emmy was asleep for most of the ride, and Tammy fell asleep towards the end.
Back home, they were happy to be in their bed, with freedom to move and all their toys. We had skipped the middle meal, and it wasn't long before it was time for their last meal. I had wanted to weigh them, but we discovered we didn't have the right battery to replace the old one with.
Sammy fell asleep right away, as always, and tonight Emmy was fine too. Not so Tammy. Again, for the longest time we took her out, rocked her, put her back, picked her up again..... until she finally fell asleep on Daddy's chest, together with Daddy.
We have sinced look at the apartment layout and measurements and where we want to put what. But the online kitchen planning tools have not helped any; we'll just have to go there to sit down with someone.
