HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Last night was the toughtest in a long time. Let's see if I can recall everything, with the help of our feeding chart. Emmy was first. I fed him at 11:30 pm. Two hours later - I had just gone to bed - Emmy woke up crying. I tried to comfort him, but it didn't help. He was wide awake, and I picked him up. His crying had woken up Sammy, so I plopped Emmy into Randy's arms (who was already sleeping), and fed Sammy. It was 1:30 am. I put Sammy back to sleep, and took Emmy out of Randy's arms. He was still wide awake. Now that is VERY unusual. They usually drink their milk and go straight back to sleep at night. I sat in the dark room with him for a while, then tried to put him to bed, and he allowed it. I was really tired, and it was after 2 am, and I had not slept yet.
At 3 am Tammy started crying. She's the one that always sleeps through the night, and that is very early for her. I made her milk, and she drank it all. When I put her to bed, she started crying. I picked her up again, held her a little longer, and then she accepted being put back to bed.
Once again I went back to bed. I had only had a few minutes of sleep and was really tired. A few minutes after lying down - I had not even fallen back asleep yet - Emmy started crying. It was 3:30 am, and therefore had been 4 hours since I last fed him, so I got his milk and fed him, and put him back to bed. By now it was 4 am, and I was very tired. At 4 Randy#s shift starts, so I was relieved that I'd be getting some sleep.
The only thing I can say is that they only had milk for dinner last night, instead of cereal with milk, because we were at church at dinner time. I guess you can really see the difference now.
The morning is a blurr. I did take Emmy at 10 am to help him fall asleep, and we slept for over an hour.
As for the rest of the day, Tammy is now sitting most of the time. She's also still trying to stand up, holding onto the railing of the bed, especially when Daddy is feeding one of her brothers.
Daddy was working with Sammy, and Tammy was watching from the bed. I then added Emmy into the picture, who I'd been holding, because he didn't want to be put down.
I also had to help Tammy fall asleep in the afternoon, lying down with her. That way Emmy could finally fall asleep in the bed, with her gone, and Sammy was getting hungry, so Daddy fed him the last meal of the day.
On Mondays I bathe and weigh them. I got Randy to NOT pack these bathtub seats, and decided I would try them out tonight. I put all three in the bathtub, and was going to put all three in them at the same time. However, Sammy goes to bed after dinner, and it was his bed time, but the other two were sleeping. For that reason I gave him his regular bath in the baby bath tub and put him to bed.
After a while the other two woke back up. Normally I bathe them after dinner and before going to bed, but I decided to bathe them right away. I removed one seat and "filled" the bathtub, then put them in there. Randy was with me, and we watched (over) them the whole time. They sure enjoyed it, especially Emmy!
We then fed them, and I will definitely go back to bathing them after eating!
As they had both had a long nap, we put them back into the day bed to play for a while, which they did. Some time later I picked up Emmy, went to the back, and he started fussing/crying as soon I started praying for him, as he knew what was coming. He was crying as I put him to bed.
Tammy did the same. They know what the bedtime prayer means. However, to my surprise, she didn't fuss long and fell asleep. Not so Emmy. I had to get him back out of bed, and Daddy took his nap while rocking Emmy to sleep. I then put Emmy to bed, and he was fine.
After a while, he woke back up and started crying again. So hard, none of my comforting him while in bed worked. I had no choice but to pick him up again - and Randy rocked him to sleep again. This time he stayed asleep when I put him back to bed, but then, it's only just after 10 pm as I'm writing this tonight!
They have not gained much weight. As for Tammy and Emmy, they were weighed BEFORE eating, when we always weigh them AFTER, so they would have had a good gain that way probably.
Tammy weighed 7.28 kilos (+80 grams), Emmy 6.86 (+0) and Sammy 6.28 (+40).
