HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Last night Emmy slept through, and Sammy lasted nearly to 4 am, which is their (earlierst) get-up time. He's gonna get there too!
Emmy and Tammy both had a tough day today. They were crying and crying (not at the same time), unable to fall asleep. When they get too tired, it's a problem. Sometimes they keep each other awake, when they really want to sleep. I finally had to take Tammy to our bed with me and hold her and rock her to sleep. Emmy eventually fell asleep by himself.
Tonight the boys fell asleep right away, as always, and Tammy didn't, as always. I decided to do what a friend recommended, and NOT take her out. Randy wasn't home, he was picking up a table for our new apartment, so I was on my own. She was screaming in bed, while I was in the kitchen getting my dinner ready. She could see me, and I made eye contact with her to talk to her and assure her that I was right here. It didn't help. For about an hour she screamed from the top of her lungs. From time to time I went over to her, bent down to her, stroked her head and comforted her, but I didn't pick her up. She'd scream even harder when I'd walk away.
I ate my soup, and she was still screaming. When I was done, I walked over to her again, bent down and stroked her. She finally calmed down. I stayed a long time, until I thought she was sleeping. Not long after I had walked away, she started screaming again and returned, doing the same. One more time, and then she was sleeping for good. It was definitely tough watching and listening to her scream for so long. But she'll soon understand that she doesn't get to come back out of bed once it's bedtime. Otherwise Randy will be rocking her every night from now on.
By the way, there are not a lot of pictures of me, as I'm the one taking them, but tonight I asked Randy to take a picture when I was reading a Bible story to her before putting her to bed.
The other picture shows Randy holding them both - which we don't do much any more - while I had to do something before taking her back.
