HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Last night was tough. We woke up when Tammy was crying. She's the only one who has been sleeping through the night for weeks now. But remember, she had a really tough afternoon yesterday. Her crying also woke the boys up, so I ended up feeding all three, one after another. I left Tammy with Randy because she didn't want me to put her back into bed, then I fed the boys, and then went to get Tammy to put her to bed. Unfortunately she woke up and still didn't want me to put her down, so I had to hold her for quite some time - and feed her more - before she allowed me to put her down. I was up much longer than usual, and so very tired.
Randy has the morning shift, and I was glad I didn't have to help as much as usual. I got up when it was time to get the babies' lunch meal ready. We fed them as always, Randy Sammy, I feed Tammy, and Emmy has to wait for Randy to be done, while I cook the adults' meals, one for Randy, and another one for myself, as I'm still on a diet. So that keeps me busy!
As soon as all five of us had eaten, we started packing up the babies and everything to leave the house. It was cold again today, so they needed their summer jackets. Tammy had just fallen asleep, while the boys had not slept yet; usually it's the other way around.
It was a long trip to the north of Vienna (but it's pretty close to our new home) to get to IKEA. Sammy was already fussing on the way there. They set up the store in such a way that you have to walk through the WHOLE store before you can exit the building again. But first we stopped at the kitchen planning desk. We had to wait about 20 minutes before it was our turn, and used the time to walk around and look at kitchens. The strollers barely fit through the opening to get to the computers. The kitchen planner had a mask on and her own computer, while I had a computer in front of me that showed her screen, and plexiglass was on the desk to be between us. Then the planning began, and it took much longer than expected. Randy was occupying the babies, and had to get Sammy out. I had already had Emmy out earlier, but he still was unhappy and wanted out, so I held Sammy, and Randy played with Emmy. I did all the stuff that Sammy likes to try to get him to be happy, while working with the store employee.
I couldn't quite do the kitchen the way I wanted, but it turned out good anyway. I did forget a few things, so I'll have to go back (probably on my own) to clarify those, and then we can buy it. It takes 4-6 weeks before they come to install it, so that's pretty long.
I was exhausted by the time we were done, and had a headache; I had skipped one of my snacks. Emmy was still unhappy and didn't want to be in the stroller, and Sammy was still fussing as well. Tammy was unusually quiet, and had never even left the stroller. We had to walk miles, it seemed, before we got to the exit. It was already after 5 pm, and Sammy goes to bed by that time. We stopped at the changing room, and changed all three, after Emmy woke back up. I then walked in circles with Sammy who was tired, to help him fall asleep, while waiting for Randy. We finally left and walked back to the bus stop for the long trip home. It was rush hour, but luckily, there was enough room in the bus for our two strollers. Then two more subways before we got home. Sammy woke up when we got off the bus and stayed awake. Tammy grabbed Randy's mask, when he bowed down to get something from under the stroller. Emmy still wanted out of the stroller, while Sammy was thankfully quiet, and I just played with his legs when he started getting cranky, keeping him happy that way.
I was so glad when we got home; we had been gone for over 5 hours. It was way beyond bed time for all of them. Poor Tammy had never left the stroller, and enjoyed the freedom of their bed. Emmy was still really tired and fussy, but Sammy and Tammy get fed first, which we did right away.
I decided to postpone their bath tomorrow, given how late it was, but still weighed them. It's been 10 days since we weighed them, changing from Wednesday to Monday. I was shocked at their numbers. Tammy weighed 7.08 kilos (-100 grams), Emmy 6.8 (-100) and Sammy 6.22 (+20). We did change the battery, so I'm not sure if last time's numbers were not good...
I put Sammy to bed, then Emmy, and then Tammy. Nobody complained or fussed tonight for long or needed rocking. Randy has been sleeping pretty much ever since, with a short meal break, while I got to eat and then started working. It's been a looong day!
