Sammy was having a hard time, and Daddy knows exactly how to make him smile and laugh. I had Emmy, who also had a hard time, but needed to set him down for a moment to do something. As he would have cried if I had put him into the crib, I asked Daddy to hold him for a moment. We don't hold two at once any more very often. So this is how this picture (and video) came to be.
Today Emmy showed us how well he can get sounds out of this electronic toy. Good job, Emmy!
Tonight it was time for the weekly bath and weigh-in; now that they're eating I'm gonna start giving them baths more often. They really enjoyed the water, and I still hope we can go baby-swimming some time.
We were gonna wait until their 6-month-mark on May 6 to add a third meal (that's when they say to do it), but it seems they really want to have that third meal now. They don't really want to drink milk in the afternoon, which is when that third meal is gonna be, and are just fussing, so we might just start giving it to them a little earlier. It's gonna be cereal with fruit.
Tammy now weighs 6.63 kilos (+100 grams), Emmy 6.48 (+170) and Sammy 5.91 (+70).Not much to say today. I read that at six months old (which they'll be in a couple of days) certain toys are good for them to develop their motor skills, so we got some of those out, and need to get some more. It's still a little hard for them, but it won't be long. Tammy is already doing pretty good with them.
Tonight it was Emmy who had a hard time sleeping. And they had no new foods today. I was impressed how clean Tammy was today after I fed her. It's Emmy who fusses A LOT when he is being fed. Randy uses all kinds of distraction tactics to try to get him to eat. Today I fed him, and I thought I'd try to play a video for babies to see if that would quiet him down and help me feed him better. It did not work. He was quiet, yes, but he wouldn't open his mouth. In the end, I think it's better anyway not to get into a habit of watching stuff while eating. I guess I'll let Randy continue doing his acting while feeding him.
