Today we had plenty of time to feed them their regular noon-time meal, as we only had to leave the house at 12:45. Time went by fast anyway, with all the preparations. We took two subways to the university hospital where they were born. Emmy was in the single stroller, and Tammy and Emmy in the double. They had their 6-month-old preemie checkup. They measured all our temperatures at the entrance, and gave us hand sanitizer. Once inside, we had to wait for quite a while before it was our turn. Tammy finally fell asleep while waiting, while Emmy woke up. They hardly ever sleep at the same time!
First they weigh and measure them (but don't give us the numbers). Sammy has not gained enough weight.
Like Emmy did when Grandma came over, he started crying when a stranger approached him. After 2 months of only seeing us, I guess he now gets scared by other people. I comforted my son, stayed close to him, but he had to go through it all anyway. When it was over, I just held him. Tammy and Sammy had no problem.
The doctor tested different things, and asked questions, to see where they are developmentally. Tammy is obviously the furthest. Emmy is doing great either. And we already know that the brain damage is affecting especially Sammy's legs, which is why he needs the physiotherapy really bad. She spent more time on him, talking about his condition. We're still believing in our miracle-working God!
We spent a lot of time there before we went back home. They were glad to be out of the stroller again. And it was already pretty late. Time just flies.
When we put them to bed, they all slept for a while. Then Emmy started crying, in the bed in the living room, and then Tammy started crying. She sleeps in a bed with Sammy, right next to him, so then Sammy started crying. It took us a while of stroking, rocking and feeding, before all three were back asleep. That's our life now!
As for the apartment, I called them today to ask about some of the documents they want from us so we get the apartment. Hopefully we get them all sorted in the next few days. Thanks for praying!
