HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
For the second day in a row I had to get up earlier than usual, and I really felt it, especially in the afternoon. But, it was the third night in a row that Emmy and Tammy both slept through the night. Sammy had his milk at 2 am instead of midnight, which was a little tough, as I had just gone to bed. And then Tammy already woke up at 3 am, which was mighty early.
As our appointment to see the apartment was at noon, we simply gave them their solid meal at the previous feeding, and then gave them milk while on the road, and it worked well. Sammy got to go in the single stroller again, with Daddy, and I had the other two in the double stroller. It took us 36 minutes to get there, taking only two subways.
As soon as we got off the subway, we could see the unique looking building. The elevators were right there, and leaving the station, we saw the building right in front of us. And it was the right end of the building, where the entrance was. We were a little early, so we looked around, and figured out which apartment was "ours".
When the guy showed up who'd show us the apartment, he had his mask on and asked us to put ours back on. Walking into the building, there were a few stairs, but there was also a ramp and an elevator. Even on the inside it's really unique looking, but I did not take a picture. On Google Maps, it says that there is a yoga studio in the building, which is not the case, so I'm wondering if that's what was in this apartment before us.
The apartment has two levels, Downstairs is one big 60 sq.m. room that can be divided to create rooms for the chilren. There is also a toilet, and we don't know yet whether we'd be allowed to add a shower. Upstairs, right when you walk in, is where the kitchen is gonna be. We'd have to buy our own. Then there is the living room, which seemed really small, one bedroom that also seemed very small, and a bathroom with bath tub and a toilet, as well as the balcony.
I wasn't that excited when we walked through it. Apartments always look really small when they are empty. But the probability we could ever have an apartment this size again is close to zero. And when I think about it, I can't think of anything going against it. Randy loves that it is on the ground level, and that there is a little bit of grass right outside those windows downstairs, an area only accessible for people of the building. He also loves the big park right next to the building. I love the closeness to the subway, which was one of my must-have's, and the floor-to-ceiling windows, though only one of four walls has windows.
While I wasn't that excited there, I get more and more excited now. I'm just not a spontaneous person. One disadvantage is that it's on the other side of town for my family (who uses cars, not public transportation), and that it's probably the district I know the least about and have never had anything to do with. There's also no shops right there, but there's a lot of construction going on. There is also a small train station right next to the subway station.
I uploaded all the pictures, so let me know what you think.
Leaving the apartment, we decided to walk over and into the park, and it was really nice. I stopped one young man to ask him whether he likes living here, and he said he only works here, but loves it. After doing a circle in the park, we returned to the subway station on the other side of the building, and returned home. Sammy was getting pretty antsy, but milk helped. The other two were really quiet, though we got Tammy out in the apartment for a while.
Back home, it wasn't long before it was time for their second solid meal of the day, and it seemed not long before the third solid meal. Randy went grocery shopping, and then to pick up some more second-hand motor skill toys. Being so extremely tired, I was really thankful that they all fell asleep right away. Sammy ate early tonight, so he might need another night bottle before the morning.
It's after midnight, and I'm glad that Randy has been sleeping on the couch for at least 2 hours. He wouldn't go to bed early, but this way he at least gets some additional sleep. I should follow suit.
