Last night we ended up putting Emmy in the daybed with Tammy, after struggling for hours to get him to sleep, but he just rolled himself over to Tammy and nearly woke her up. So he spent the rest of the night back in the nightbed with his brother. Tonight he did the same as last night. He was just screaming at the top of his lungs when it was bedtime. We put teething gel on his gum, gave him a teething ring to chew on, but nothing helped. He'd scream lying down, and scream being held. In the end I put him in the daybed with his sister, and after screaming for a while, he fell asleep. It was tough to not comfort him, but I believe it was the best thing to do in the end. When I just fed him at 11 pm, I put him in bed with his brother, and he simply continued sleeping.
Today all five of us left the house for the first time in over 6 weeks! It was the first time the little ones left the house in over 6 weeks! First time riding in the stroller again. We fed them at lunch time, ate ourselves, and then we packed them up to go. I carried Tammy, who had not slept yet. The boys had already had a little nap. We were gone for nearly 2 hours, and the whole time all three of them were happy! No complaining or crying. Except for when Daddy was carrying Sammy on his shoulder and a branch scratched his head. 🙂
We took the tram to Schönbrunn castle, which is just a few stops from us. Adults are required to wear face masks - the "new normal", they call it. Once on the street, we could take the masks off. We walked into the castle park and walked around there for a while. Tammy was soon asleep and slept on my chest for a while. We stopped and sat on a bench, and Daddy fed Sammy, borrowing Tammy's hat. He then walked around with Sammy a little, letting him touch a tree, and looking at the goldfish, and then did the same with Emmy. Tammy was still sleeping. Then Emmy ended up sitting in the stroller, and Randy carried Sammy. We need to switch out the bassinets for the next level, where they sit. Emmy wanted to see the world as well. At some point Tammy finally woke up, and I turned her around, as she is now old enough to face forward. That way our little explorer got to see everything!
We had a great time doing this little trip! The babies really enjoyed it, and so did we. Especially after 6 weeks of being inside. And it was our first time ever just going for a walk as a family.
Back home, Emmy and Sammy took a little nap, and Tammy a longer one. While she was sleeping, we fed the boys, and then I gave them a bath and weighed them. They were all done, when she woke up and it was her turn.
This week it's Sammy who had the big weight gain. Tammy weighed 6.53 kilos (+40 g), Emmy 6.31 (+0) and Sammy 5.84 (+160).
