HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 2042. Last night both kids were in our bed again. They were up early, when Tammy was saying she was hungry, Randy finally got up as well to make breakfast. They were rather loud, and I got up just before my alarm was to go off at 9:30 am. I got myself and the kids ready, and we left the house at 10 am.
It was raining hard, but we were prepared. They had their rainboots and raincoats on, while I had my umbrella. We took the subway downtown, then walked to the music school, where we arrived a few minutes early. Their teacher had promised to keep some green cookies for them, as we had missed St.Patrick's Day's week last week, but she hadn't. They had some other cookies there that she offered to them. Then she said we could write their names and what they're gonna play at the Easter Party next week on a big sheet on the wall, which I did. Theirs were the first names on there.
Another kid from their class arrived, and I got to talk to his Dad for a few minutes, while the three kids were having fun - and being too loud. The fourth student didn't come today.
The class started with the greeting song, then Tammy was calling for a guessing game. Today the teacher made them guess all that we were going to do at the Easter Party next week. Then they did the fingers touching the thumb warm-up, then the finger exercises on the piano.
She then had them go straight to the song she'd been leading them up to. We missed last week's class, but I had practiced the song with them at home. First they sang the song, then they sang the notes and put the right fingers on the paper. Then they played it with their right hand first, then the left hand, then both hands. It wasn't very easy.
Then she had them come to the front and reviewed the types of notes with them, their lengths. They then returned to their seats and had to put the length in line-form under each note of the song.
Next she paired us up. Tammy went to the front to be with her, while I turned to Emmy. She showed us hand movements to do together with our partner, and we'll have to practice these this week.
And then it was already time for the final story - one where the teacher sings it, and she encouraged the kids to sing part of it as well. The kids then brought their sticker books and assignment books, she did the good-bye song, and the class was over.
We put our coats and shoes back on and walked back to the subway. We got on the tram, as it was just arriving, and then on the subway that was going to take us to the McDonald's near the swimming pool. It was just after noon, when we arrived there, and Randy and Sammy were already there.
I ordered, and we sat down and had a good time eating and having fun. They got some new dinosaurs in their Happy Meals. They also had a special deal for icecream which was their dessert. Then we put their raincoats back on and crossed the square to the swimming pool. We paid, then walked around the building to the wheelchair-access entrance. They let us in, and we went to the changing room to get changed. Emmy started dancing in his swimsuit, then Tammy joined in. It was too funny, and I filmed them.
We'd missed last week's class; two weeks ago Tammy had swum by herself without any help for the first time, and at the time Sammy was not allowed to be in the water because of his injury. Today there were no restrictions. We went straight to the baby pool with warm water, and Sammy and I were having lots of fun, while Tammy and Emmy did as well. Randy chose to stay outside because of his skinned knee.
At 1:45 pm their class started, so Randy took my place with Sammy, while I went to the cold water pool with the other two for their class. It sure was cold! We went into the water, and the teacher did the greeting song - with Tammy, as usual. Then she handed out swim noodles, even to those who said they didn't need them any more, like Tammy. They then had to swim to the other end and drop off a piece and swim back. She was gonna look at their technique. Then she handed out a few rubber animals that could be filled with water and then squeezed. The kids had to take them, when they were hit with the water, so it did its rounds. Then Tammy was allowed to get rid of the noodle and swim without it, but Emmy wasn't. He was also starting to whine about the cold water again and didn't want to continue.
The teacher wanted to practice diving, and asked everyone to go to the warm-water pool. Emmy was excited. There they did some diving exercises, and Sammy was right by us. Then we did the good-bye song, and the class was over. It was time to have fun again. I took Sammy, and Randy left the water. We were all having fun togeether for some time. Then we left - which Emmy was not happy about at all. I felt okay and thought we might be able to go to church tonight.
We got dressed again, and the kids went to the hairdryer. We were waiting in the area for Daddy to be done. A teacher was preparing his diving equipment for his class, and he was really nice and explained stuff to Emmy. I asked him, and he said diving classes started at the age of 8. Then he gave all three kids a lollipop.
They put their raingear back on, and we went outside into the rain. We walked to the subway, then took two subways home, where we arrived just before 4 pm. By then the tiredness had hit me hard, and the kids were tired too. We decided to stay home. I lay down in bed, while the kids were playing, and after some time Randy took them downstairs, which allowed me to fall asleep.
I woke up, when they came back downstairs. They were hungry, and it was 6 pm, so I got up and went to the kitchen to make their dinner. They ate, then went into the bathtub, then we got them ready for bed. I read them two stories, prayed for them, then they brushed their teeth and went to bed. It was nice to have a free evening for once. I took advantage of the time to make my salad that I like so much but that is time-intensive to make. After having eaten, I went back to work. I downloaded today's pictures and worked on them, then started writing. Now it's midnight, but we lose an hour tonight, as we turn our clocks forward.
