Day 2060. It's Easter holiday! I've really enjoyed the kids not going to classes and teaching less - not a single 8 pm lesson this week. Emmy is at soccer camp, Sammy in kindergarten and Tammy home.

Except for Monday. Randy left with Emmy at 8:30 to take him to his camp - one stop on the subway, then two stops on the bus, then a long walk. Emmy got a new football school shirt and a bottle and was so excited to be playing soccer all day, for five days.

Randy returned home, and at 10 am he left with Tammy and Sammy to go to Sammy's horse therapy session. Sammy wanted Tammy to come along, and she was happy to. She enjoyed watching Sammy ride the horse. As for me, I enjoyed getting to go back to sleep.

When they came back home, I got up and went to the kitchen to start cooking. We ate, then I got ready for my student and taught at 2:30 pm. Randy left to go get Emmy just before I was done teaching. I couldn't wait to see Emmy again and find out about his first day. He got back just after 4:30 pm, and he wasn't as tired as I had expected. He told me a little bit, then Randy took the kids downstairs, where Emmy continued playing soccer. At 5 pm I had a student, and after I was done, I went to the kitchen to make their dinner.

And by the way, in the morning Randy noticed that Sammy had lost another tooth, right next to the first one. And like with the first one, we do not have the tooth that fell out.

On Tuesday Randy left with the boys to first drop Sammy off at kindergarten and then take Emmy to his camp. Tammy stayed home and occupied herself, while I got to sleep in. Eventually I got up and started cooking. We all ate, then I got ready for a student again. I started teaching at 2:30 pm, and Randy left just before I finished to go get Emmy whose camp ends at 4 pm.

At 3:30 pm Grandma arrived. We hadn't seen her since the end of February, so it was great to see her again. We all went downstairs, and as I didn't have any more students, I got to be with her for the next two hours. It had been her birthday on Sunday, and Tammy was eager to give Grandma the gift she had made for her. She had even wrapped it herself - her very first time ever wrapping a gift. I think the pictures speak volumes about how excited she was.

We were having a great time with Grandma, Tammy, Sammy and I. Just after 4:30 pm, Emmy came home and had one more hour with her. Time went by way too fast, and Grandma already had to leave. I had already done piano practice with the kids before, so Grandma got to hear them play, and so I went upstairs to start making their dinner, which was the beginning of our evening routine.

This morning started the same way. Randy left with the boys, while I continued sleeping and Tammy was occupying herself. My alarm went off at 10:30 am, and I got up to get ready for my 11:15 am student. I taught until 12:30 pm; Randy had already left to pick up Sammy. I went to the kitchen to make a quick meal, and Tammy and I ate. But I didn't have much time as I had my next student at 1:20 pm. I taught until 2:10, then got ready for my 2:30 pm student and taught until 3:20. Randy left just before I was done to pick up Emmy. At 4 pm we also left the house - Tammy, Sammy and I.

We took the subway for one stop, got off and took the elevator down to wait for Daddy and Emmy. I was surprised how long it took them to arrive. It was extremely windy, but it was also the hottest day of the year, really more June/July temperatures. It was the first time I wore my sandals this year and did not bring a jacket.

After a while they arrived and we got on the subway to go downtown. I found out that Emmy had won one of the daily prizes today. He got a bag with the football school logo on it for playing faire. He was pretty excited.

We got off by the Town Hall and walked to the entrance. Many people were already coming out as the event had started hours earlier. We walked to the elevator and took it upstairs to where the action was happening. There was a clown doing magic tricks on the schedule for 5:15 pm, and that's where we were heading. It was about 5 pm, when we arrived. We slowly made our way to the right hall, walking by crafts stations that Tammy really wanted to do. They saw a lady on stilts - their first time seeing stilts - and were amazed that she could walk on that. We also saw Mr. Murphy, the clown who does magic tricks that especially Emmy likes a lot. Unfortunately he was just finishing for the day, so the kids didn't get to see any tricks closeup, they just got cards and stickers with the clown's picture on them.

We continued on to the hall where the clown was going to perform and had to stand in line, but we didn't have to wait long and there was plenty of room for everyone as it was late in the day and many people had already left. The kids went all the way to the front, and I also moved Sammy there and asked for a chair to sit next to him. Sammy wanted out so he could sit on the floor with his sister, so I got him out. He has really matured as he watched the whole 45 minute performance without making any trouble whatsoever. Not that long ago that would not have been possible. He was up front, even pulling himself up on the stage edge, as his sister and/or brother were there as well, and watched it all.

The clown pretended to do magic tricks that weren't any in his show, and he pulled up kids to the stage to help him. Tammy got picked and had fun being his assistant. I made a video of the 5-minute performance. After it was over, the clown said he'd be by the exit to high-five every kid, and he was.

The even ended at 6 pm, so it was time to leave. We walked to the elevator and took it to street level, but then we still needed a bathroom, so we had to go back inside and find one. Then we left the building and walked to the park in front of Town Hall. The kids still wanted to go to the playground there and had fun playing for a while. Sammy was swinging, Tammy was exercising with the rings, and Emmy was playing with a boy. They were all having fun. After a while we left and walked to the subway that we then took home.

We were all hungry, and I quickly warmed up some leftovers for the kids, then started cutting up their fruit. They were all eating, then they showered quickly as it was late. Late or not, we still went downstairs for a shortened version of piano practice. Then I read them stories, prayed for them, and they finally went to bed after 8:30 pm. I went to the kitchen to make myself a salad that I then enjoyed eating, before going back to work. Now it's nearly 1:30 am, and I still have to take care of the kitchen.
