HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 2027. I had a very long day of teaching yesterday, teaching nearly 8 hours. In the morning I went back to sleep after Randy left with the kids at 8:30 to take them to kindergarten. At 9:30 am my alarm went off, and I got up to get ready for my 10 am student. I taught until 12:30, then wrapped everything up. By the time I was done, Randy came home with Sammy and left again to go pick up the other two kids. I then went to the kitchen to cook a quick meal, then ate, and Sammy also had some, even though he eats in kindergarten. Then I had to do some scanning and getting ready for my 2:30 pm student.
Randy and the kids came home just before I started teaching. I then taught four hours straight until 6:20 pm. Just before 4:30 pm Randy left with Sammy to take him to his wheelchair kids class. During the 40 minutes I had until my next student at 7 pm, I made the kids' dinner, cutting up fruit, as I had already made their sandwiches earlier in the day. They sat down to eat, while I started teaching. Randy and Sammy arrived just after 7 pm. Randy put the kids into the bathtub, while I was teaching, and they were done by the time I was done.
I was glad I was done for the day and could spend some quality time with the kids. First we went downstairs to do piano practice, then we sat down so I could read them stories before bed. I prayed for all three, then they went to bed, and I could go get myself something to eat and relax a little before going back to work on the computer.
This morning Randy got up at 6:30 am instead of 7 am, as Tammy and Emmy were going to the library with their kindergarten group and had to be there earlier than usual. He then left with all three at 7:45 am, while I went back to bed. At 9:30 am my alarm went off, and I got up to get ready for my 10 am student. About 25 minutes into my lesson, I got a phone call. I saw that it was Sammy's kindergarten and picked up. The director told me that Sammy had gotten hurt falling on the edge of some furniture and that he had a deep cut on his forehead. She said that he needed to go to the hospital to get a special bandaid only they can apply. I then called Randy who was out and about, and he picked Sammy up and took him to the hospital. As that usually takes hour, I told my second student I could only teach one hour instead of an hour and a half and prepared myself to go pick up Tammy and Emmy and take them to tennis, which is usually what Randy does.
When I was done teaching at noon, I called Randy and found out that they were already nearly home. They had been faster than usual today. Randy warmed up yesterday's leftovers and ate, then he was the one leaving to get Tammy and Emmy after all, taking the bus just before 12:30 pm. I then finally got to have some quality time with Sammy.
When I brought up the accident to Sammy, he started crying. I guess he was releasing the tension, and now Mommy was finally with him in this crisis situation. I held him and comforted him. They had put a special bandaid on the wound on his forehead and said he was not allowed to touch it. It can also not get wet, so he's not allowed to come near the bathtub for a whole week. I then distrated Sammy and let him play with the door. I warmed my own food up and sat down to eat. Sammy then also ate some, as he had missed lunch in kindergarten today.
I had work to do, doing more scanning for students. Sammy sat by me with his tablet. He kept asking, when we were leaving, but we had plenty of time. He looked at a new photobook that included our January vacation, and played with Alexa. I made sandwiches for the kids and got ready to leave. Just before 3 pm Sammy and I left the house.
We took the subway and then the train, then walked to the other side of the railtracks to where Randy was going to arrive with Tammy and Emmy. We had to wait a little bit, then they arrived. Tammy hopped off the train, and Sammy went onto the train, then the train left with the boys. They were going to soccer class. While Emmy was playing soccer from 4:30 to 5:30, Randy and Sammy were in the hallway, but Sammy was not very happy that he couldn't play with the doors.
Tammy and I walked to the bus. It had been raining all day, and it was cold. We had to wait a long time for our bus, but then it finally came. And it was the bus that stops right in front of the dance school, which is perfect, especially given the rain. Tammy still had 3 minutes to put her ballet clothes on, then she went inside, while I sat down in the locker room. I spent the hour with my phone and reading the paper. From time to time I would walk to the door to peek inside and take some pictures.
Just before 5 pm the class was over, and Tammy got changed again. Then we left and were lucky, as the bus arrived right away. It took us to the subway that we then got off of two stops before home to pick up some bread for a third of its price. However, we got there at 5:20 pm and pickup started at 5:30 pm, so we had to stand in the shop for 10 minutes and wait. While we did, Randy called, as Sammy was not happy, and we talked with him.
At 5:30 we got our bread and took the subway the remaining two stops to go home. I went straight to the kitchen to cut up fruit for the kids and got all their plates ready. Tammy started eating, and I turned my computer on to start my 6 pm lesson. Just after I had started, the boys came home as well, and they all started eating.
When I finished at 6:50 pm, I took the kids downstairs for piano practice. Back upstairs, I gave Emmy and Tammy a quick shower, as Sammy was not allowed in the bathtub. Then we read some stories before I prayed for them and for Sammy. But I was not done for the day, as I had a student from 8:10 to 9 pm. After I was done teaching, I got myself something to eat, watched the news while eating, then started working on the pictures. Now it's 1:30 am, and I still have to take care of the kitchen.
