HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1832. It was a Saturday, but we had to get up in the morning, as we already had to leave the house at 9:30. Our friend we hadn't seen in a long time had invited us to come celebrate her son's birthday with them. Because of construction work, it was a longer trip than usual to the other end of town. We took a subway, then a tram, then walked, then took another tram all the way to the end. Then we walked to our friend's house. We got there just before 11 am, and then took the bus with our friend's husband to go to the playground, where the others already were. After getting off the bus, we still had to walk a bit to get there. It was an extremely hot day.
We finally reached the playground and saw our friend and her son as well as other people who had come for the special occasion. The kids ran off right away to go play and had fun. I took Sammy to the swing, then Randy took over and I sat down by my friend. I enjoyed talking to her and to her friends.
After a while the kids joined us to get some food and drink, then ran off again to go play. Some time had passed, but there was still something to do: a treasure hunt. There were some papers to send them on the hunt, and the adults helped the kids follow the hints. All the kids ran together in the same direction. They had to cross a little creek, where the little ones needed a bit help. Then they found the treasure. They brought the box back and divided up the content - candy as well as gold and silver coins.
Sammy had enough of being there and was glad, when we packed up and all started walking in the direction of our friend's house. We split up, and Emmy went with the boys in the walking group. Tammy and Sammy, one girl and three adults, we took the bus back to their house, and another group had a car. We all met up at the house.
The kids wanted to put their swim suits on right away, as they had a little pool set up. As hot as it was, that was the best place to be. They had a lot of fun playing with the other kids. Tammy really liked the girl who was a year older than her, and Emmy also enjoyed the boys. He even got to play soccer with the oldest boy.
And they checked out all the toys that were at the house there, of course. When the birthday boy saw the gifts, he started opening them. We had given him a moving and roaring dinosaur with a remote control that he really enjoyed. All the kids enjoyed it.
We ate some pizza, and the kids had some icecream later. The adults were sitting at a table talking or were busy with the kids. I got very hot sitting partly in the sun and moved inside at some point. I was also very tired. I enjoyed watching the kids have so much fun.
With 5 pm approaching, we decided it was time to get going, as we had a long trip home. We said our good-byes and walked to the tram stop. We went home a different way, taking two trams and a subway. Sammy was pretty tired and cranky. It was 6 pm, when we got home. Tired or not, I went straight to the kitchen to make them dinner, which was the beginning of our evening routine.
