Day 1982. We had nothing going on on Sunday morning which was nice. I cooked lunch, and after lunch I called Paul in Mali to get some information and an update. Then I made the kids dinner-to-go boxes, and at 4:15 pm we left the house to go to church.

When we arrived, all the kids went straight to the front to do some drawing. Then Tammy got a streamer she danced with. Sammy was impatient to go to the kids' program at 5:30 the time had come, and it was Randy's turn to go with them. After about half an hour I got a text that Sammy was not happy and left the sanctuary to go find out what was going on. I then took over and sat down with Sammy to build a house and tower with Duplos. We were having fun together. While we were doing that, the other kids were doing their teaching/program, followed by crafts. After a while Randy returned and swapped places with me again. I returned to the sanctuary until 7 pm.

The service was ending, so I went back to the kids' room to get the kids. Sammy was excited, asking to see Anna. I didn't know whether she was there or not but said that we'll go look. So we went into the sanctuary and walked to the area where she usually sits, and there she was. Sammy was very happy, and the other kids were also happy to see her. We spent some time together, then said our good-byes and left.

On Monday Sammy has horse therapy in the morning, and so he stayed home with me, while Randy took the other two to kindergarten. That meant no possibility of sleeping for me, even though he occupied himself for a while, which was great. After Randy returned, he got Sammy ready and left with him. Instead of lying down again like I should have, I stayed up and worked, but did lie down for a little bit later. Once Sammy got home, I went to the kitchen to warm up the leftovers from the day before so we could eat. After having eaten, Randy left to go pick up the kids from kindergarten, while Sammy and I stayed home. They got home early enough  before I started teaching at 2:30 pm that I could go downstairs with them to do a quick piano practice time. It's the end of the semester and they can already play all their songs, so we only needed 5 minutes each.

I taught from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. Randy and Tammy left at 3:45 pm so she could go to her ballet class. Once again she was crying that she didn't want to go but stay home with me. I told her that I was teaching anyway, and with a lollipop I was able to get her to calm down and go. She then enjoyed her class. I asked Emmy to play with Sammy a little or at least help him when he needed it, while I was teaching, and it worked out well.

After I was done teaching, I did some more office work, then I went to the kitchen to make dinner for the kids. Tammy returned home at about 6 pm. They started eating, which was the beginning of our evening routine. Just before I was supposed to start teaching at 8 pm, my student moved the lesson to the next day.

This morning some repairmen were finally coming to look our heating that is not working downstairs - for the second winter in a row. The house management has said they gave them the order on December 6th - after nearly two months they were finally coming. And early at that. Just before 7 pm they arrived and went downstairs to look at the heating. Randy had removed all the cabinets so they had access. I stood next to them, watching them. They said the heat wasn't even coming into the apartment and wanted to go to a room in the building to check on the heating system. However, they did not have a key to access it, and so they left. And it's still cold on the lower floor of our apartment.

I helped get the kids ready for kindergarten, so I stayed up longer than usual. Eventually I did get so tired that I lay down and fell asleep.

Tammy  woke me up at some point, when she came into the room. Her body temperature was elevated and she wasn't feeling well which is why she had stayed home. Thankfully it was close to 10:30 am, when my alarm was going to go off.

I got up and got ready for my 11 am student. I taught until noon, then I made a quick meal. We all ate, including Randy who had already picked up Sammy, then he left to go pick up Emmy.

Sammy sat by me for a while, later Tammy played with him for some time. I tried to work, but was extremely tired. I was that tired all day but realized tonight that I'm probably also dealing with the same virus that Tammy has rather than just being tired.

Tammy was up for practicing the piano briefly, while Emmy never got to. He got home at 2:30 pm, and we already had to leave 15 minutes later. I quickly made sandwiches for everyone and packed Emmy's to take with us. Then I dressed Emmy for the two classes, and just after 2:45 pm we left the house. Tammy wasn't up to going to the ball-playing class, and Sammy's friend Michi wasn't coming today, so there was no need for either one of them to come today.

And so it was just Emmy and me. We rode the subway and then the tram. He had asked me to bring a new Christian soccer book with us that I started reading to him yesterday, and I continued reading to him on public transportation.

His class started at 3:30 pm, and I sat in the locker room with the other parents for most of the time. I was just so tired. After class, we took the tram, then rode our scooters to the school where the ball-playing class was taking place. It was raining. Emmy then had lots of fun in the class, and I got to watch him the whole time, as there was no one else around who needed my attention. Just as we were leaving the gym to get changed and leave, Randy called as the other two kids were asking when we were coming home. So we had them on a video call while getting ready to leave. We got to the bus stop early and still had 7 minutes to wait. It was an unusually warm day so I had put on a light cold, but with the rain and nightfall, temperatures had dropped again, and I was cold. But I continued reading Emmy's book to him, while we were waiting for the bus, and continued reading on the bus.

By 6:15 pm we were back home, and I started getting their fruit ready. They then eat before going into the bathtub. Tammy was still not feeling well and going straight to bed without a story, just like last night. And so I continued reading the soccer book to Emmy. I put him to bed, then sat down at the computer to get ready for my 8 pm student who had moved yesterday's lesson to today, but she never showed up. Two hours later she wrote me. I guess it had been a misunderstanding, but it's annoying. I was glad that I got to get some food and sit down to eat and relax a little. It had been a tough day. Now it's going on 1 am and time to go to bed.
