5 years 5 months 20 days

Day 1999. Three days have passed since my last update. And Tammy has stayed home from kindergarten all those three days as she's had a cold/virus and hasn't felt well. She missed her tennis and ballet class.

On Wednesday I taught from 10:30 to 12:30, but we still had leftovers for lunch. Randy then brought Sammy home. Having Tammy home, she also spent some time with him. Randy came home with Emmy just before I started teaching at 2:20 pm. And he left again a few minutes later, this time with Sammy, to take him to physiotherapy. Sammy likes going there, and Randy really likes what the therapist does. Sammy stood all by himself without holding on to anything for a few seconds.

Tammy and Emmy were home with me. I was gonna take them to their exercise class, but the class was canceled, so they got to stay home. Randy and Sammy returned before 5 pm, and at 5:30 pm I had another student.  I had my last student from 8 to 9 pm, after having put the kids to bed.

Thursday is my busy teaching day, as it's the only day Tammy and Emmy have no classes. And I felt like a teaching machine, going from student to student, teaching English, French and Maths. I taught from 11 am to 12 pm, warmed up leftovers, then took care of Sammy and Emmy. After Randy got home and had eaten, he then took all the kids downstairs for a while. At 4 pm they returned upstairs, as he left with Sammy a few minutes later to take him to his wheelchair class, and just after 7 pm they returned back home.

I taught from 2:30 to 6:30 pm non-stop, then went to the kitchen to make their dinner. I handed it to them, then sat down for my 7 pm student. While I was teaching, Randy took care of getting the kids into the bathtub, and after I was done at 8 pm, I still got to read a bedtime story to the kids.

I taught 5 hours on Wednesday, 6 hours yesterday and 4 hours today. Today I had to start early, and didn't really get to sleep again after Randy had left with the boys. I started teaching at 10 am and went until 12:30 pm. By the time I was done, Randy had already left to go pick up Emmy and take him to his tennis class. Sammy had to be picked up by 1 pm. I finished with what I had to do to wrap up my lesson and left the house - by myself. It was the very first time any of our kids was home alone. It was only half an hour, or I would not have done it. Tammy was on her tablet the whole time.

It was bitter cold when I left the house, especially because of the wind. Sammy was very happy to see me. By 1:10 pm we were back home. I went to the kitchen to cook, not having eaten anything all day yet. Tammy was already saying she was hungry, but she then ate little. Sammy ate some pudding. I was soon getting very tired, as I wasn't able to sleep last night, making the night even shorter. Tammy started playing with Sammy, and I told them I'd like to take a nap. Well, Sammy didn't agree with that, hammering on my door, but eventually Tammy was able to distract him and keep him busy. I fell asleep, but was soon woken up again by Sammy.

Randy and Emmy got home around 4:15 pm, just as I was starting to get ready for my 4:30 pm student. Randy took all the kids downstairs, which meant a quiet environment for me to teach in.

After I was done at 5:20 pm, Randy left to pick up leftover bread, while I went downstairs to where the kids were. Tomorrow they have their first piano class of the new semester, and I had given them a true break, not asking them to practice for the past two weeks. But I wanted to go over everything with them tonight, so they remember before the class starts. Tammy wanted to go first. She played all their songs, and did the theoretical part on the board. No problem at all. Emmy came next, and there were a few moments, when he wanted to walk away, but I was able to persuade him to stay. He also still remembered everything.

Randy had returned before we were done, but we then all went upstairs - after Tammy and Emmy had shown me what they could do with the new swing. I went to the kitchen to make their food, and they all ate. Then it was time for the bathtub. We then changed all the sheets and bedding for everyone, which was quite an undertaking, but everyone was happy about it. But it meant there was no time for a story tonight, as it had gotten late. Surprisingly the kids were okay with that. I prayed for them all, and  they went to bed. Then I went to the kitchen to make my dinner.
