Day 1977. Yesterday and today I was supposed to have 5 hours of lessons to teach each, but it didn't end up this way. I was teaching my first lesson, when my telephone rang. Later it turned out that it was the tennis school saying the kids could to a make-up class this afternoon.  Grandma was coming, so I said no. Then two afternoon students canceled and my Mom said she could come today. Unfortunately it was too late, so the kids all stayed home. I had some important office work for the ministry to do during the time I was going to teach, then taught one hour, then my 8 pm student moved her lesson to today, so I continued with the office work until after midnight.

This morning, when the kids arrived in kindergarten, they found out that the photographer was coming today. I'm curious to find out what the pictures look like. As for me, I lay back down after they had left, but the alarm already woke me at 9:30 am as I had a 10 am student. I taught until 11 am, did some work, then lay down again but never actually totally fell asleep. When Randy came home with Sammy at 12:40, I got up and went to the kitchen to make lunch. Randy left right away again to go pick up Tammy and Emmy.

After I had finished eating, it was not long until Grandma arrived. Sammy was very happy to see her, and we all went downstairs together. The three of us had a good time. After a short while, we could already hear Emmanuel shouting down to us, then he and his sister joined us. They started playing. Grandma wanted to read to them but they preferred playing. Emmy then played ball with Grandma, and asked her to play Fusball with him which she did. I then did piano practice with Tammy, and then with Emmy. When it was Emmy's turn, he allowed Grandma to come and watch him, which Tammy hadn't. He played all the songs he's learned this semester and showed her on the board what he already knows when it comes to music theory.

When we walked back into the playroom, Sammy was playing the xylophone. I then told Grandma about their Christmas gift that had arrived late - a swing to replace the rings so that Sammy can also swing again. I'd asked Randy to put it up but he hadn't done it. Grandma then encouraged me to do it myself, and Sammy has really been asking for the swing to be put up. Thankfully my 3:30 pm student had canceled, so I went upstairs to get the swing, and it took no time at all to hang it up. All three kids wanted to be the first ones to get in. Emmy went first, then Sammy, then Tammy. There's a lot you can do with this swing, as you can climb and do all those areal things. It was a little bit of a challenge to put Sammy in in such a way that he's comfortable. On his back was not ideal, on his knees worked better. Whoever was not in the swing was always saying they wanted in. Grandma then left us just before 4 pm.

Randy came to take Sammy out of the swing to go upstairs with him and get him ready to go to the wheelchair kids class. I had a 4:30 pm student, so we all went upstairs. It was 16 degrees Celsius downstairs which is why everyone is dressed warm in the pictures. Randy and Sammy left just before 4:30 pm, and I started teaching. Tammy and Emmy were on their tablets. At 5:30 pm I had another student. After I was done, I went to the kitchen to make their food, then I sat down to get my 8 pm class ready.

At 7 pm Sammy came home and ate his fruit, then everyone went into the bathtub. It was already pretty late, so I could not read them a story tonight. I prayed for Sammy and put him to bed, then I prayed for the other two and asked Randy to tell them a story which I could hear that he did. I started teaching at 8:10 and taught until 9 pm. Then I went to the kitchen to make myself some soup. After having eaten, I started working on today's pictures and eventually writing. Now it's after 1 am, and I need to go to bed soon.
