Day 1970. Sammy was up early, and later we also got up. We went downstairs to have breakfast, then returned to the room, where Tammy and Emmy put their skiing gear on. Then the three of us left. They put their ski boots on in the room where you put them, then we picked up the skis and waited for the shuttle to return. An ice-cream delivery truck pulled up while we were waiting.

We got on the shuttle and rode it down to the ski school area. I put the kids' gloves on properly, closed their ski boots and pulled their pants over them. Then they walked to where their teacher was. The teacher said they'd go up and go down the race track together one time, then the race would start. So they put their skis on and went up the hill. I called Randy to let him know the race was now, so that he and Sammy could get dressed and come join us. They arrived just as the race was about to start.

Tammy was the second person in her group to come down the hill. She braked just before the goal, but I had already figured out that they were not taking time which was disappointing. Last year they had had a real race, with numbers, with real goals, and there were first, second, third etc. places. Emmy came a little later, and he was clearly the fastest coming down. He would have had the first place.

The teacher said that they were going up the mountain in the gondola, and that the award ceremony was going to be at 11:30 am. I wanted to buy my lift ski pass at the gondola, so Randy, Sammy and I started going that direction. Sammy was on Daddy's shoulders. The teacher and the kids were also right behind us, and Tammy caught up with us, while we were waiting for the elevator. We took the elevator down to where you could buy the ski passes, and I bought mine for tomorrow morning. Then we walked back to the hotel - with Sammy protesting as he wanted to ride the car again.

Back in our room I lay down for a nap, while Sammy was playing in their bedroom. At 11:15 I got up, and we left to take the shuttle back down the hill to the award ceremony. The kids weren't actually back from the mountain yet but arrived a few minutes later. They were all carrying their skis in their arms. We were standing where they had prepared everything for the ceremony, and all the kids walked into the area to look. They then took them back out as they were supposed to go through a tunnel into the area, with appropriate music playing. And that's what happened. The ski school director was the moderator, with a mike, and he then called the kids' names out. Everyone was in first place. Tammy was the second kid to be called up, and Emmy the third. They got their medals and certificates and stepped up on the podium. Once the two groups were all there, we took a picture of them. Then they played the song "We are the champions", then they were allowed to leave. I took a picture of the two of them, then we walked to the road, where the shuttle was just arriving. We got on, together with a bunch of the other kids.

Back at the hotel the kids got changed, then we went to have lunch. Emmy wanted to play Fussball with me again, and as there was still time until crafts at 1 pm, the two of us took the elevator to the top floor and played together. I was getting extremely tired and knew I needed a nap. I then took Emmy to the kids' area, and he and Tammy made a Paw Patrol medal, while Randy was playing with Sammy. I went to the room and lay down to sleep.

I woke up, when they returned, but fell back asleep. At 3:15 I got up, and we all put our bathing suits on. Then we went to have cake and coffee, followed by going to the swimming pool. We were all having fun in the big pool as well as the baby pool. At 4:45 pm we left and returned to our room.

After having changed, they went to the kids' area to play, while I went to the ski rental place that is also into the same building as the hotel. I needed to get the equipment for tomorrow morning, when I'm going to take the kids up the mountain to go skiing with them. They are only open from 5 to 6 pm during the week, and there was a family of 4 in there to get equipment for all of them. I was third in line, and more and more people arrived. I let the two people behind me go first as they were just returning equipment. Then it was finally my turn. I got shoes, sticks and skis, and took it all to the rooms where they are stored.

When I walked into the kids' room, it was just after 5:30 pm and Happy had just arrived. Sammy had been looking forward to seeing him again. Again they did a dance together, then talked with Happy, then took pictures with him. Then they said good-bye to him, and he left.

There were still a few minutes until dinner time, and Tammy brought me a book to read to her. Emmy joined us as well, then Tammy walked away and Emmy was my sole listener. Once done, we left to go to dinner.

Dinner starts at 6 pm, and we were there just before then. I got food for all the kids - as it was spaghetti, it was something they all like. Then I got my salad. By 6:20 pm they were already done eating. By 6:30 pm I had finished my salad and took Tammy and Emmy to the kids' room where they were showing Paw Patrol episodes in the theater tonight. Back in the dining room, our main course soon arrived. Sammy was getting pretty cranky, saying he was hurting, and he was leaning against me, which is not really like him. He wanted to join his siblings, so there was no time for us to have dessert that we had to get ourselves from the buffet tonight. Randy took Sammy to the theater, while I got two plates of dessert for us and took them to the room to eat later. Then I joined them all in the theater.

After a while Sammy wanted to sit with his sister, so I took him there. Then he wanted to sit with Emmy, and Emmy came to sit with us, which was nice of him. Sammy was enjoying himself.

At 7:15 it ended. Everyone had to leave, and they closed the theater. It was still half an hour until the bedtime story. Emmy got a book and brought it to me to read to him, while Tammy wanted to draw. Sammy also sat down with us and wanted me to read to him, and after I was done with Emmy, I read two books with Sammy. He was really enjoying it.

Before I was done reading to him, the bedtime story started. After it was over, we finally went to our room, where we got them ready for bed. It took a while today, and just before 9 pm Emmy suddenly stood next to me, asking what the theme for tomorrow was and what kind of crafts they were going to make. I had to look him up for him to satisfy him. Then he went to bed and fell asleep.

I turned my computer on and did all the pictures, then started writing. Now it's midnight, and I'd better go to bed soon as I'll be skiing all morning tomorrow.
