HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1968. Every day it's been a little later that we have gotten up. Today it was approaching 8 am. We got dressed and went to breakfast. Tammy has been refusing to eat meat, and this morning all she had was some plain yoghurt and some cantaloupe - not much energy for going skiing. Emmanuel, on the other hand, wanted his own omelet and got a small one - and he ate it all.
Back in the room, I put their ski gear on them, then I left with them, while Randy and Sammy stayed in the room. We went to the ski boot room where I put their ski boots on them, then we went to the ski room to pick up their skis. We were very early, so there was only one other kid there. The shuttle arrived moments later, and we got on. On the bottom of the hill we were dropped off and walked to the ski school area. The teachers were already there, getting everything ready. We were over half an hour early so I asked the kids to show me how they ski. We walked up the hill a little, then I walked back down and asked them to ski down, while I was filming them. Tammy was doing a little better. Then I left them with their teacher as other kids had arrived as well. I got on the next shuttle going back to the hotel.
Randy and Sammy were still in the room. I lay down, and then Randy left with Sammy to go to the kids' room. However, they came back rather early, waking me up. I fell asleep again and was woken up just before noon when Randy asked about picking up the kids. I quickly got up and left to go get them.
When I reached the kids' area, there they were playing with another girl. They had already taken all their gear off. They were happy to see me, and we went to the room to get them changed. Then we left to go to lunch.
After they were done eating, they went to another table where a girl was playing a game with her grandma. Emmy asked whether he could also play, and then Tammy joined them as well. But then there was a fight between Tammy and Emmy and it was all over. Tammy was even crying as she felt treated unfairly. After we were all done, I told them it was time for crafts, but they were not interested. They said they wanted to play board games instead. And so we went to the library, and the three of us played two games together. All was fine again.
Then we decided to go check out the top floor of the hotel where we had not been yet. We went to the games room and started playing Fussball and had fun - until we didn't. There was another fight between the two, so we quit and left to return to our room.
We were getting ready for swimming, but there was yet again another fight and tears, and I suggested we all get a little rest, so we stayed in the room for about half an hour. All three were on their tablets. Randy took a nap, and I would have liked one. Sammy had his favorite song going and was dancing to it. I started filming him and then caught on video how he hit his head.
It was time to go to the swimming pool - a place where we all have fun, and we did. We played in the regular pool with the slide and in the baby pool. In one area they have bars as there is a whirlpool, so that you can lie on those bars. Tammy jumped into the water very close to those bars and did it two more times after having told not to. Then Randy told her to get out of the water and take 5 minutes sitting down. I also got out and lay down on a bed, with Tammy next to me. Emmy was playing with a little boy who's become his friend. After a while we decided to return to our room.
After we had dried up and gotten dressed, we went to have some afternoon cake. First I had them play their piano piece for the concert on Sunday again. After we had eaten, the kids went to the climbing area where they played for a while. When Randy and Sammy had caught up with us, we went inside the supervised kids' area.
We still had 45 minutes until the magic show at 5 pm. Tammy wanted to draw, and then the other two wanted to do so as well, though Emmy did more playing in the climbing area. When it was time for the show, we also went into the little theater, together with everyone else who had come. We ended up sitting in the first row together. I had Sammy on my lap. He was enjoying the kids' songs that were playing.
Then the show with "Magic Moritz" started. He did a series of little tricks, and the kids had lots of fun. Tammy was very upbeat, energetic and vocal. And then she got to be the first little helper to come on stage. I filmed her whole performance. She had so much fun, doing lots of laughing.
And then Emmy got to be a helper on stage as well, and he was also having lots of fun. He also came to us to have kids move their fingers over a board, and Sammy got to do that as one of a handfull of kids. He had other helpers on stage, and in the end he made a box of candy appear. On the way out of the theater, each kid got one.
Tammy and Sammy went back to drawing, as we still had 20 minutes until dinner time. Then we left to go to the dining room.
The kids are not great eaters for much of the time, and especially Tammy is rather picky. She didn't eat much tonight. By 6:30 pm they were done and ready to go back to the kids' area to play, so I took them there. We hadn't even received our main course by that time, but it was there, when I returned. We finished our meal, then we all went to the kids' area. I had told Sammy I was going to play with him, chasing him which he loves. And I did.
They had put olympic games on the program, and when we arrived, they were playing a game where they have to throw balls on cords over bars and they have to stay on them. There were two other kids beside them. They were doing well. Then they played bowling, then they had badminton rackets and balloons, trying to keep the balloons in the air. While they were doing theier olympic games, I was chasing Sammy, making him laugh a lot and having lots of fun with him. He also got a balloon, and we played together, throwing it back and forth.
When the kids were done with their olympic games, they even got a medal and a certificate. Even Sammy. Sammy had already left with Randy by that time.
The only thing left was the good-night story, and more kids arrived for that. Then we were done and returned to our room, where Sammy was crying because we weren't there. Randy had even called me twice because of it. I gave Sammy his medal, and he was happy. Then the kids all got ready for bed, and I still read them a bedtime story. As always, they all fell asleep quickly. And I sat down at my computer to download the pictures and videos and start editing. Now it's after midnight, and I'm the only one up.
