HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1966. Sammy was the first one up as usual. It was already 7:10, when Randy called to him to go back to sleep. But once he was aware what time it was, it was clear that we needed to get up. We put thermal ski underwear on Tammy and Emmy and a ski sweater, then we all went to breakfast.
We had a nice breakfast buffet to choose from and all had plenty to eat. Then we returned to our room, where I put all the ski clothes on Tammy and Emmy. Then we left. Randy and Sammy left a little after us to go to the kids' activity room where they stayed for a while until Sammy had had enough.
The three of us went to the ski boot room first, where they put their boots on. I also zipped their coats up and put the shirt over them that had the name of the hotel on it and was for the ski school. Then I taped the labels with their names on top. We left that room and walked to the room where their skis are being stored. We picked them up and went to the van sitting right outside. The driver put the skis on and opened the door for us to get in. He then drove us the few meters down the hill to where the ski school is located. It's so close you could walk there.
We had taken the first shuttle there and were pretty early. I still put the skis on them, hoping they could go up and down a little to remember how to ski as it's been a year, even though it's already their third winter. Another boy arrived and decided to join them for the picture I was taking. Emmy was suddenly gone. I was helping Tammy put her skis on, when I turned around and heard him shouting my name. He had gone down the hill involuntarily, so I went to get him. A little time later he went down that hill another time. By then he was crying and already had enough, but I encouraged him, and we walked back upstairs. I then reminded them how to have their skis, when they go downhill, but the memory didn't quite want to come back.
By that time most kids had arrived, and the parents were registering them, so did I. The lady told me where to take the kids so they could go down the hill and show the instructors how good they are.
Tammy went first and did better, Emmy kept his feet parallel. I told the instructors how well they had already skied last year. The boss then sent the kids to teachers to give them a "refresher course". It was time for me to leave, and the shuttle took me back up the hill to the hotel. When I picked them up an hour and a half later, they said that the memory had come back to them so that they knew how to go downhill again.
Back at the hotel, Sammy was already back in the room and was playing there. He hadn't wanted to stay in the kids' room. I then lay down and got a nap. The alarm woke me just before 11:30; I was still very tired. I got dressed to leave the hotel to go pick up the kids. Sammy wanted to come along, so the three of us ended going together. The receptionist called the shuttle, and Sammy was really happy to get a car ride again.
When we got off the van, Sammy and Tammy were already there waiting for us. Emmy still didn't look very happy. They got into the shuttle, together with other kids, and off we went, back to the hotel. We went to our room to take all the ski clothes off, then we went to the dining room to have lunch.
At lunch time we can sit anywhere we want. We chose to sit by a window in the wintergarten which was beautiful. And we all had great and plentiful food to eat.
After lunch it was time for crafts in the kids' room. Tammy had been looking forward to it. Even though they had just been to the bathroom and washed their hands, all kids have to wash their hands first thing, when they go to the kids' room. Then they briefly played in the ball pit and the climbing area, then they sat down to make a dinosaur. I sat down on the floor with Sammy and helped him build with Duplos. After he was done, Randy read a few books to him.
After the kids were all done with their dinosaurs that were drying, it was time for a fruit break. All the kids sat down at the tables and could choose between banana and apple. Sammy didn't want to eat anything. Then they went back to playing for a while before we decided it was time to go to our room.
It was 2:30 and sledding was announced for 3 pm, so we had a little time at the room. I was pretty tired and closed my eyes for a few minutes. Then we put their ski gear on them and went downstairs and outside. The other kids were already playing there, but there was no sledding going on - well, except for a little corner where one girl was going up and down on her butt. Tammy joined her, while Emmy did some shoveling at first. Then I encouraged Tammy to go get a little sled, and she had lots of fun going up and down over and over again. Emmy then joined her. Sammy wanted to go inside after Randy had had him on a type of sled and had let him go down the slide a couple of times. We stayed a little longer and walked to the other end of the courtyard to see what was there. And then we also discovered the cage with two rabbits inside.
Back inside we walked to the bar area where we are supposed to sit during afternoon tea time. We also looked into the library right there and found a piano. Tammy and Emmy then both played their piece they'll be playing at their concert next Sunday. Then we sat down at a table by the open fire. Randy and Sammy then showed up as well, and we all had cake.
We went back to our room where we put our swim suits on and went to the swimming pool. This time I had my phone with me to take pictures. Tammy and Emmy went straight to the slide, then to the baby pool, while I took pictures. Randy had to leave again, and I wanted to finish with the pictures before getting wet. Once he was back, we went up the stairs to the inside pool that is connected to the outside pool. We all got into the water and swam outside. There was not as much steam coming off the water as yesterday, even though it was colder. We didn't stay long, but headed back downstairs to the kids' pools.
And then Randy slipped on the stairs. He had one hand on the railing and one holding Sammy. I took Sammy, and we continued down the slippery steps. Randy had hurt his already hurt foot; let's hope it's not too bad. We then had lots of fun in the big pool. I was playing with all three, chasing them and throwing them. At 5:30 pm we decided we'd had enough and that it was time to return to our room.
Back in our room we got dressed, then we went to the restaurant for dinner. We were back at our table. I got food for all the kids and then for myself. The kids were already impatient to go to the kids' play area that opened at 6:30 pm. I took them there and returned to our table. Once Sammy was done eating, he went on the ground and played with the toy kitchen. He played with a boy there for some time, then he left. Then another mother told her son to play with Sammy, and they played until the boy left. Once we were done eating, we all went to the kids' area. Sammy and I sat down by the trains and played together there for a while.
At 7:45 pm the bedtime story started with was the last program item. Emmy wanted to sit in my lap, while Tammy sat up front and was the only one asking questions. Once it was over, we left and returned to our room, where we got them ready for bed. Tammy and Emmy still wanted a story from the book we read every night. When Emmy was falling asleep, I stopped reading, and they went to bed.
I had a lot of pictures to go through, pick from and edit before starting my report. Randy went to bed just after 10 pm. At midnight Emmy came and lay down on our bed, and now it's 1 am and time for me to go to bed as well.
