HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1830. On Sunday was the kids' big birthday party, and we adults could still feel the exhaustion for days. Sammy had horse therapy on Monday morning - his very last one - and gave his horse a kiss to say good-bye. I was teaching for two hours in the afternoon, with Tammy and Emmy occupying themselves, while Randy had to go to the pediatrician with Sammy to get a paper.
Since Tuesday all three have been going to their kindergartens in the morning, which is quite a relief after too many weeks where that was not the case. I had to teach Tuesday morning and this morning, but was able to go back to bed on Wednesday and sleep as long as I wanted to, which I needed very much. I taught on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, but today only in the morning. Today was different as the hairdresser was coming to our house at 1 pm.
It was the first time she was coming to our house instead of us coming to her, as she doesn't have her shop any more. It was quite convenient, even though we had to pay extra for her coming. It meant that Randy and the kids had to be home by 1 pm, while they usually get home at 2:15. And so Randy left at 11:30 to go pick them up, while I left the house at 12:15 pm to go pick up Sammy. Usually Randy picks up Sammy, drops him off at home, and then goes to pick up the other two. I had told Sammy yesterday that I was picking him up today, but had not talked to him about it in the morning. When I walked into his classroom, he wasn't looking my way. The teachers had him turn to the door, and his face lit up, when he saw me. I think he had forgotten that I was picking him up. He was brimming from ear to ear and was so happy to see me. There's nothing like seeing your child react to you like that.
I talked to one of his teachers briefly, then we left to go home. We let the first subway train go, because it was an old train, and took the next one, as it was a new train. We got home around 12:45 pm. Sammy was really nervous about the hairdresser coming and clinging to me. Randy returned home with Tammy and Emmy at about 1:10 pm, and the hairdresser arrived 5 minutes later. It was nice to see her again. We put a chair in our bathroom that I sat down on, then she put the dye on my hair. It had to stay in my hair for half an hour, so it was the kids' turn. I had cut all their hair, when it was too long, but it was obviously not done professionally. She got Tammy straightened out, then I had Sammy on my lap and she cut his hair. Emmy came last. They were finally all pretty again. Then she finished my hair, making me pretty as well. By 3 pm she said her good-byes and left.
I didn't have any students in the afternoon, which was nice, but I had office work to do. I went downstairs to my office to do some scanning of school books. Randy and the kids were also downstairs and playing. They went up first, and at 6 pm I also went upstairs.
It was time to make their dinner, then they went into the bathtub, then we got them ready for bed. By about 8 pm they were in bed. I got myself something to eat, then went back to work.
