HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1925. Yesterday was Sunday, and the very first day of all of us staying at home in a very long time. I wanted to stay home, but no chance. It's Emmy who never lets me sleep. He kept bugging me about opening the advent calendars as it was December 1st. I got so upset that I finally told him he'd have to wait till the evening to open his.
And so I finally got up instead of sleeping and gave Tammy and Sammy their advent calendars and helped them open them. They each have a candy calendar, one with toys and one with chocolate that somebody else gave them. Once they were done, I did give Emmy his toy calendar, but for the other two he had to wait until the evening.
They then went downstairs to play, while I was so very tired that it was hard to work, but I had to get things done. At 11:15 I went to the kitchen to make lunch. We ate at noon, then everyone got on their tablets to rest. I went back to my computer to work. I was really thankful for a day at home without any students.
This morning I didn't just have to make sure the kids were dressed right, but I also had to help them open the second door of their advent calendars - at least the toy ones, as they open the candy ones at night. After Randy had left with them to take them to kindergarten, I went back to bed.
After Randy had dropped them off, he went back to the orthopedic doctor with his x-ray results and got medication for the inflammation, exercises to do and a new appointment. Then he ran to the grocery store and got home just in time to go pick up Sammy from kindergarten. They got home at 12:45, and Sammy and I had great fun together. Randy returned with the other two kids at 2:15 pm. There was not enough time to do piano practice, as I had a 2:30 pm student. Randy sat down to eat lunch, while the kids got on their tablets.
After I was done teaching, I went downstairs with Emmy to do piano practice. After we were done, we returned upstairs, and Tammy and I got ready to leave the house together. The past few weeks Randy has been taking Tammy and Sammy to ballet, but today he was gonna take Sammy to soccer class. I didn't have a second student and hadn't been to ballet class in weeks. And I'm glad I went.
Tammy and I left the house at 3:45 pm and took the subway for three stops, then we took a bus to dance school. I believe Tammy really enjoyed the one-on-one time with Mommy today. We had fun on public transportation.
At the school she put her ballet dress and shoes on, then we went into the classroom. Randy has not been going inside, but I did and sat down on one of the little chairs against the wall. There was one other mother in the room. I enjoyed watching Tammy dance. She was doing great. They were practicing the dance they're going to perform in a few weeks. And I finally found out when and where that performance was going to be. Of course it's the same day as five other events we already had for that same day. Just great! But her performance needs to be a priority. I just might have to go there with her by myself.
After 50 minutes the class was over, and Tammy got dressed again. We left the school and walked to the bus stop, then took the bus followed by the subway. Just after 6 pm we were back home. Randy and the boys had left at 5 pm and only returned home after 7 pm.
Tammy and I had dinner, then I went downstairs with Tammy to do piano practice with her. Once Randy and the boys returned home, they sat down for dinner. We then gave them a quick wash before I first put Sammy to bed, then read stories to the other two before they also went to bed. They got to bed way after 8 pm today, and Emmy was still up after 9 pm. He was crying quite a bit and I had to to go to him a few times before he finally fell asleep. I then did some work, and now it's nearly 1 am and time to finish taking care of the kitchen before going to bed.
