HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1942. This morning I helped with the kids, then lay back down for a little while. At 9:30 my alarm went off as I had a student at 10 am, followed by another one at 11 am. Randy had the first of three therapies for his foot. From there he went straight to Tammy's and Emmy's kindergarten to pick them up, then he called and said he could go get Sammy as well, even though I was gonna pick him up later. So they all came home at 1:30 pm, and Randy finally got to eat.
I took Tammy and Emmy downstairs right away for piano practice, then we returned upstairs. I had a student at 2:40 pm, which is also when Randy left with Sammy. Sammy had an appointment at the company that makes his night braces to try out another device.
After I was done teaching at 3:20 pm (and I only just realized I finished 10 minutes too early), I got everything ready for us to leave the house at 3:45 pm. The three of us left 5 minutes late, with our scooters, and took the subway, then another one, then rode our scooters. We had never been to that place before, and my phone did not show me the correct way. Thankfully it was a lot easier and closer, and even though it was already dark, I saw the name of the place we were going to on the building.
We walked in and saw two rooms to the left and right and a little Christmas tree right in the lobby. We still had a few minutes until the class was to start, and the previous classes were still going on in the rooms. After a few minutes we went inside. There were supposed to be 10 children including ours, but they were only 7 today. Emmy was very outspoken from the very beginning and trying to connect with other kids.
When the class started, the teacher showed them right away what they were going to do today.
First, they each got a paper with a reindeer on it and were supposed to color it, then cut it out. Tammy was very excited about that as she loves drawing/coloring. Emmy not so much. But they only did that today because it was the lesson before Christmas. After they were all done, the teacher handed out plastic boards and different pieces that they didn't know what to do with. But it was break time first. The teacher gave them a cereal bar each.
After the break he told them how to put the pieces onto the plastic board. I later found out that that was what they had been doing the previous weeks, building electric circuits, so the other kids already had some experience. In any case, they just had to follow the teacher's instructions, and then I ended up helping them out.
Afer they had put the circuit together - with a red lamp, a switch, and a resistor - the teacher gave them batteries to put in. Again I helped them. Then they put their reindeer nose (a hole in their paper) over the red lamp. They flipped the switch, and Rudolph's nose lit up red. The teacher even turned the light off so they could see better. They were pretty proud of what they had accomplished. As there was still time, they gave them a green light and said they could add it to their circuit. However, they had to make sure it was after the resistor. Again I helped them.
Then the teacher opened the door, and the kids' parents came in to see what the kids had done and take pictures. I'd had the privilege of being present the whole time as it was their first time and a try-out class. We said our good-byes, put our coats back on, and left to rid our scooters to the subway.
It was 6 pm, as the class had lasted 90 minutes. Randy called; he was back home with Sammy. We took the two subways home, but it was challenging. They were extremely crowded so that there were no seats, and I had three scooters, a purse and two kids. I was sure glad, when we got home just after 6:30 pm.
I went to the kitchen right away to make their dinner. After having eaten, they went into the bathtub which started our evening routine.
