Day 1854. Finally Sunday, finally a morning to sleep in! However, the kids came to me contantly, waking me up over and over again. At some point Randy left with them to take them to the playground. I thought that he would have been happy about a quiet morning at home, but I guess not. The kids had fun at the playground, and Tammy climbed up an old tree until Randy told her to stop.

By 11:30 they were back home, and I started cooking lunch. We ate, then it was time for Tammy to go to her second climbing class. This time it was Randy who was taking her there. They left at 1 pm. Tammy had lots of fun again, and they did some stuff they hadn't done the first time.

I stayed home with the boys. I had fun with Sammy, and I cut up their food for the dinner boxes to take to church with us. Then we all went downstairs. Someone had given us (I think) this stand-up board, and I had bought some chalk markers to draw on it. It was time to try them out. I got all the markers started, but first, it was time for Emmy to do some piano practice. They have an assignment book this year and are supposed to practice a few minutes as many days as possible. At first Emmy was very upset about it and refused to do it, but then I got him to sit down by the piano with me after all. First we reviewed the new song they had learned, and he did pretty well. Then we did the actual piano practice on the piano, and he did well again. I wrote down "4 minutes" into his assignment book. Then he got to go draw on the blackboard. But drawing is really more Tammy's department.

Not long after 3 pm Randy and Tammy returned home. Tammy came downstairs, and it was time for her to do her piano practice. She did great. I wrote down "5 minutes" for her. Then she started drawing on the board, and she did most of the drawing. I drew the two flowers and the cactus, but she/they colored them. Tammy did a great job.

At 3:45 pm we all went upstairs and started getting ready to leave the house. I was tired but felt up to going to church, even though it hadn't really been planned all along. But the kids wanted to go, and it's good for them. At 4:15 pm we left the house, and it took two subways to get to church just after 5 pm. We found a seat, and the kids went straight to the front to do some drawing, including Sammy. After a while Sammy returned to where we were and sat with me. Emmy also came with some fabric and started dancing with it. Later Sammy sat down on the ground and played with Emmy there. Tammy only returned with her drawing just before it was time to go to the kids' program at 4:30 pm.

It was my turn to stay with them, and so Randy remained in the sanctuary. Together with some other kids we went to the kids' room. There were some mats on the ground, and one of the teachers had fund and pulled several kids around the room on it, including Tammy and Emmy. Then everyone sat down in a circle on the mats. Every child then said their name, age and favorite animal. I had Sammy sitting with me. He wanted to eat, so I gave him some food. I also got the little car he likes to ride.

After the introductions, they did a song with the children. Then it was teaching time. Emmy was not that attentive. I put Sammy on the car; he wasn't interested in the teaching either. Then he started saying that he wanted Daddy, and so I left to go get him. I then stayed in the sanctuary, and Randy with the kids.

It wasn't long before Randy and Sammy suddenly stood next to me in the sanctuary. Sammy had asked for me. His friend Anna had arrived just a little earlier and was sitting nearby, so I took him to her right away. He was very happy to see her, especially as we hadn't seen her in a very long time. He stayed with her for a while, then she suddenly left with him and came back without him a few minutes later. I thought that was strange, as I was right there, that she hadn't taken him to me. I figured she had taken him to the kids' room, and that was the case. He had asked for Daddy. However, after a few minutes of wondering I wanted to be sure, so I left to go to the kids' room to see whether he was there. He was, and he was having fun, as they were all playing a game. Randy, however, was ready to go home. It was 6:45, and as I was very tired myself, I agreed. The kids weren't as excited. We packed up and left to walk back to the subway.

By 7:30 pm we were back home and got them ready for bed right away. They fell asleep quickly. I was extremely tired and hungry and got myself something to eat. After having eaten, I started working on today's pictures. Now it's time to take care of the kitchen and then go to bed.
