HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1890. It's a Monday, and it's the first day of the one-week fall school holiday here in Austria. It also was the day that Emmy had been looking forward to for weeks - the beginning of his soccer camp. Because there hadn't been enough registration at Emmy's location, they had organized a shuttle to take the few kids to another location. And because of that, Emmy already had to be at the old location at 8:15 am, rather than at 9 am, so pretty early. That was a problem with Sammy's kindergarten, as 8 am is the earliest you can drop him off there, and he has to be there by 9 am. And so I was going to take Sammy to his kindergarten today - together with Tammy, who is home this week, as she didn't want to go kindergarten by herself, plus it would have been very difficult logistically.
And so we all left the house together at 7:45 am. We walked to the subway, and Randy and Emmy got off after only one stop. They then had to take a bus briefly, then had a long walk before reaching the parking there, where the vehicle was gather up the kids to take them to the other place.
Tammy, Sammy and I rode the subway for an additional stop, dropped Sammy off at kindergarten, and then we got some food in the bakery. I had left my sandwich at home and needed some food after having taken all those strong antibiotics. Then we got back on the subway and rode it for one stop the direction we had come from. We needed to get on a bus there that would take us to the shopping center, where Tammy had gotten her ears pierced in the summer. Just over a week ago she had lost an earring at the party and gone to bed without one in hear ear, and in the morning the hole had already grown shut again. It was the first chance to get that fixed.
We were walking to the bus, when we suddenly saw Daddy walking towards us. He was coming back from having dropped Emmy off. Tammy was over the moon. He then stayed with us at the bus stop, and there was even a tiny playground there, where Tammy was jumping on a trampoline in the ground. When the bus finally came, Tammy and I got on, and Randy went on to go to the grocery store.
We got off at the shopping center and walked to the jewelery store. I was already very tired after a short night with two kids. I explained the situation in the store, and they reshot her left ear. This time without numbing cream. Tammy said it had hurt, but it was not noticeable.
Coming out of the store, Tammy wanted to go on the Peppa Pig rides, and I let her choose two to do. Then we stopped at the bank before getting on the tram to take us back home.
By 10 am we were back home, and again we ran into Randy who was also just returning home. I was so exhausted that I went straight to bed and got some sleep. I got up at noon and put two pizzas into the oven for us to eat. Randy then left to go pick up Sammy.
Once they were home by 12:40, we sat down to eat. After lunch, I went downstairs with Tammy to do piano practice with her, then I returned upstairs, while Randy stayed downstairs with Tammy and Sammy. I was getting ready for my 2:30 pm student.
I taught until 3:20 pm, then made sandwiches for the kids to take with us. Just after 3:45 we all left the house. Randy and Sammy got off after one stop on the subway to go pick up Emmy, while Tammy and I continued on and then took a bus to her dance school. It had been a few weeks since I had been the one to go to dance school with her, and I was looking forward to watching her. However, I was once again very tired and could hardly keep my eyes open.
The class started at 4:30 pm, and I was surprised by the number of kids there, given that it's a holiday week and all other classes are suspended for the week. Or maybe that's why. There was only one other parent in the room with me. The teacher suggested we leave when possible, but Tammy wanted me there, and I wanted to watch.
Tammy did really well. They were actually learning a specific dance that they're going to perform. I thought she said at the Christmas Party. Tammy now has two friends in this class.
While I enjoyed watching her, I really just wanted the class to be over so we could get home, as I was so tired. Just before 5:30 it was finally over, Tammy changed, and we left the school.
And we were very lucky, as the bus came right away, and so did the subway. That way we were home just before 6 pm.
Emmy was sitting at the dining room table with fruit and his tablet. He didn't even say hello. It was obvious that he was very tired after a long day of playing soccer. I warmed up some soup for them, and then started cutting up fruit for them eat. Then they went into the bathtub, where Emmy was waking up a little and becoming talkative again, telling us about his day. We then got them ready for bed, and I read them a bedtime story, even though they were both tired. They all fell asleep quickly tonight, even though they were in bed before 8 pm.
I was finally able to get myself something to eat, then I started working on the pictures of the day. Now it's still early, and I have yet to load the dishwasher.
