HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1906. Last night I went to bed at 10 pm, and so I was up early this morning. So was my roommate. They brought breakfast just after 8 am, and I was ready for it. It was a white bread roll (Semmel) with butter and jam. The nurse came while I was eating to measure my blood pressure, and it's been good.
Some time after lunch a doctor came into the room that I did not know. He introduced himself as being the second surgeon besides the lady doctor who had operated me. He said to me that my infection must have been very intense (which it was) to cause such extensive growth of the cyst. He said that it was attached to the colon and the bladder. He also said that they were going to cut me open because of that, which is also what they had told me in advance. But, they knew that I had triplets and one in a wheelchair, and because they knew I was needed right away by my children, they decided to use the robot to detach the cyst and get it out through the holes instead. And that took 5.5 hours. That's why I only have five holes in my belly (not three) and can go home tomorrow and am ready to roll right away. I'm so thankful! He was a very nice man. All the doctors and nurses here have been so much nicer than when I gave birth to the triplets. Maybe because it's the oncological department and there are a lot of cancer patients here? I've had a different person in the room with me every night, and every one of them came into the hospital for chemotherapy, stayed over night, and went home in the morning. By the way, I also asked and found out they only took the ovary that had the 18 cm cyst in it, as the ovary still has a function (they said), so I still have my right one.
Time has been passing really slowly today. I called Randy and the kids just as they were about to leave for kindergarten. Then I turned my computer on to do some stuff to not be so bored.
At noon they said they would change my bandaids - the five on the holes - so I went to the bathroom to take my first shower since the operation. But then they never came to change the bandaids. It was 4 pm before they did.
At 12:40 they brought lunch, and for the first time I ate everything. My new roommate was talkative, so we talked while eating.
Just after 2 pm a friend came and spent half an hour with me which was very nice. Then I was back on the computer. Some time around 5:30 pm another friend came, and I had a good time talking with her. I've had more time talking with friends in the hospital than I ever have outside the hospital. After she left at 7 pm, I was back on the computer. I was getting tired of sitting, even though I can sit in any position now. Then Randy called. The kids were back home after their lantern festival, but they weren't eating. Sammy was crying. I got him smiling again. I think he misses me the most, even though he's such a Daddy's boy. Then Randy called again at 8 pm, when they were about to go to bed. I talked with them all and told them I'd be home, when they get home from kindergarten tomorrow.
I then got videos and pictures from the lantern festival that I was very thankful for. It was great to at least watch their program that way. They had done a great job singing and acting.
It took me quite a long time to pull pictures out of the videos and edit them all. My roommate went to bed before 10 pm, while I was working. Now I'm sitting in the dark typing. I've had my last pain pill this morning and wanted to take one before going to bed, but they took the box away to fill it up for tomorrow. Today I FINALLY got my three IV needles out; one had already started hurting. Now I'm ready to go home.
