HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1905. I had an absolutely terrible night of not being able to sleep. At 6 am the nurses gave me an IV with pain medication. Soon they came to measure my blood pressure. Then there was lots of action with the lady in the other bed, the second person to share the room with me. And then the nice lady doctor who had operated me together with a male colleague came by. She was just about to go home and wanted to check on me. I finally got to ask what all they took out. She said that they only took the ovary that had the cyst, as ovaries still have a function in my body. Then she said good-bye.
The nurse came and told me it was time to get up. I was a little hesitant but knew it had to be done. Because of all the action it was 9:45 am by the time she came for us to get started. She took the electronic thrombosis stockings off of me and told me to sit up which I did. I stayed there for a little bit, then I got up and walked to the bathroom. It wasn't as bad as I had thought, as it had been much worse after the C-section. She told me to do some basic hygiene and wash myself, which I did. In the meantime she gave me new sheets, and I put a new nightgown on. Then they pulled the catheter out. From now on I had to go to the bathroom myself and was successful by noon already.
By 10:15 or so Randy and the kids finally arrived. Even though visiting hours are from 2 to 7 pm, it was the only time they could come. They skipped kindergarten to come see me. They were very happy to see Mommy, and so was I. It had been Tammy's idea to bring me flowers, and I was very happy about the two bouquets of flowers thy gave me. Tammy sat down next to me to cuddle, then got her tablet and continued holding my hand. Sammy sat on the chair with his tablet, and Emmy was on my other side and also grabbed his tablet pretty soon. It was great to have them all so near. At 11:30 they had to leave because of what they needed to do with the lady next to me, plus the doctors were about to make their rounds. I gave them a cuddle and waved good-bye.
A few minutes later the doctor arrived. I didn't know him. He said that starting tomorrow I was getting the pain pills to swallow and the day after I can go home.
I was pretty tired and lay down a bit. I already had a new lady next to me, the third one, and unfortunately she was on the phone non-stop talking. I was still able to fall asleep for a bit.
At 12:30 they brought lunch. It was good, but again way too much for me to eat. After lunch, I wanted to lie down for a nap again, but there was a lot of discomfort in my belly. I still got some rest.
At 2 pm my Mom arrived, and I got up. It was her first time visiting me. It was great to see her again and to just talk which we never get to do. She also brought me a special treat from the bakery. I enjoyed my time with her. At 3:30 pm she said her good-byes and left. I was tired and lay back down to sleep.
At some point I got up and sat on the side of my bed and turned the computer on to write yesterday's blog. I had just finished, when they brought dinner at 5:30 pm. I ate half a bread role, then continued working on the computer.
When the kids were ready for bed just before 8 pm, we did another video call. Now it's 9 pm and I'm going to bed, hoping for a better night.
