HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1838. Randy left with the kids at 8:15 am, while I lay back down in bed. At 9:30 am I got up to get ready for my 10 am student. I taught until 11 am. Randy and I ate lunch early at 11:30. Just after noon Randy left to go pick up Sammy, while I left the house at 12:15 pm.
I had snacks and the kids' workout clothes and shoes in my bag. The kids had taken their scooters in the morning, and I had my scooter with me as well. I took two buses and got to kindergarten at about 1 pm. I had to look for the kids and found them in the gym, where they were having fun. They put their shoes on and their helmets, picked up their scooters, and we left.
We ran our scooters down a long road that took us to the bus stop. As the bus was already sitting there, the last row which is best for us to sit in with our scooters was already taken. As was the second-best option. We found some seats, but it was not easy for me to handle three scooters and my bag AND still give the kids the snacks they wanted. We rode the bus for 15 minutes, then used our scooters to go down another long road all the way to the sports center.
We actually arrived there really early, about 20 minutes before their class was to start. We parked our scooters, got a key for a locker and went to the changing room so they could change into their workout clothes. Then we went downstairs to the restaurant, which is where you can watch people play tennis. There was one other boy already there, waiting for the class to start. Normally there are two boys in their group, but the other one never came today.
There were quite a few new hangouts on the board. One was the picture from their tennis camp, and there were a few more of those. There were also the results of the different tennis matches of the different age groups. Theirs hasn't taken place yet. In a few weeks they're having an "olympic competition".
When it was time for their class to start, I asked their trainer some questions about it, as well as when they could do their make-up class. Then I sat down in the restaurant to watch them play.
It had been a month and a half since their tennis camp, but they played well. Emmy even played the same ball back and forth with the trainer a few times. They seemed to be having fun, and I was glad that their trainer stayed with them and taught the whole lesson, as he's definitely better than the helpers he's had.
Sammy called me a few times, while I was watching them and taking their pictures and videos. He was crying for me and was enjoying calling me over and over again. It seemed that he had figured out what button to touch to call me. I took his calls a lot, but not every time, especially when I was filming. Randy then ended up leaving the house with him and taking him to a playground and McDonald's to distract him.
At 3 pm the kids were done playing. We went to the locker room, where they changed, then we left. We took our scooters to start the long "walk" to the trains that are thankfully running again after the long summer construction work, when they were not running. And then I did what I've done before. I let go of the handle with one hand to make sure I had my phone in my pocket, as I couldn't feel it, and lost my balance and fell. The only other time I've fallen it was for that very same reason. Emmy was crying, but I told him I was alright. Some passersby came over to me to help, which was nice, and I also told them I was fine. My arm had only just healed, or nearly healed, from the fall a few weeks ago. Now the thin skin was all bloody again. And my leg and knee were scraped as well, but not bleeding like my arm. It was all burning. Still, I got back on my scooter, and we continued on to the train stop.
We got on the 3:24 pm train. It was a double-decker, and of course the kids wanted to sit on top, even though we had our scooters. After 15 minutes we arrived at our destination, got off and headed to the subway. We got on the train and reached the stop, where Randy and Sammy were exactly at the predicted time of 3:50. The two of them got on the train, so that the five of us were reunited again - much to Sammy's delight.
Just after 4 pm we were back home. I was glad that my 4 pm student had canceled, but I still had my 5 pm student at 4:30 pm. After I was done, I did some more work, then Randy and the kids came back upstairs. At 6 pm I went to the kitchen to start making their dinner, which was the beginning of our evening routine.
