HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1885. They had told me at the hospital last night to be prepared to have to stay today. And so it's with that awareness that I got ready to leave the house and said good-bye to the kids. We all left the house together just before 8:30 am and walked to the subway, but then we parted ways, as I had to pick up my prescription from the pharmacy before getting on the subway.
I walked slowly because of the pain. The night had been pretty rough with lots of pain. It's less painful than that during the day. After the pharmacy, I got on the subway and rode it downtown, then got on the tram that would take me to the hospital. Then I had all that walking to do again. Once inside the hospital, I had to go to a different area this time. The obgyn area. There were lots of people there with lines at registration. They gave me a page of stickers with my information and sent me to the purple waiting area, which is the oncological department. Even at just after 9 am nearly all the seats were taken. So many people! But I didn't care. I was just tired.
And I was very surprised, when my name was called pretty quickly. I went inside, where a Middle-Eastern doctor was sitting at the computer, and two nurses were also sitting around. The doctor told me that they didn't have the super-powerful ultrasound machine that they needed today and that I had to come back on Friday for the examination. They still wanted my blood, though, to test it for oncological markers. I told the nurse "good luck", as my good arm was all messed up. This was the third blood draw in as many days. But the nurse did a great job - much better than the student - and got the blood out. And that was it. It was time to go home. I was shocked as I had thought I'd be there for hours at least again. The way I understood it, they want my infection taken care of before they take any action, and I started taking the powerful antibiotics this morning. So more waiting in pain before anything happens.
I took public transportation home, where I arrived just before 11 am. Randy was cutting vegetables for me so I could make chicken soup. I lay down for some rest, then got up to make the soup. Randy left just before noon to go get Tammy and Emmy and together with them Sammy. I wished he'd always do it like that but then Tammy's and Emmy's time at kindergarten would be too short. For me it's much easier to be home alone rather than having Sammy with me, who is a full-time job. Right now I can't do it.
I was surprised, when they got home much earlier than expected, just after 1:30 pm. I don't know how they had done that. The kids wanted a break on their tablets first, so I let them have it. But then I told them it was time to go downstairs for piano practice, and they both did a great job today.
We returned upstairs, and it wasn't long before it was time to get them ready for their exercise class. I was glad that Randy was taking Sammy with him again. Sammy was very excited about it, that he was gonna get to go shopping with Daddy, and I put my order in. Just after 3 pm they left.
I then had 2 hours home alone - heaven. I quickly got very tired after a short and bad night and fell asleep. I'd been doing some work, communicating with students and trying to schedule those for tomorrow, as I know I won't be at the hospital.
When the kids came home just after 5 pm, Tammy came to me running and crying. Now that Sammy was fine again, and really quickly, now she was getting sick. She said she had a sore throat, and her body was hotter than it should have been. She lay down next to me, and we had some Mommy and Tammy time, which distracted her from feeling so bad.
Just after 6 pm I got up to make their dinner. I was surprised how bearable the pain was while standing in the kitchen. Tammy ate less than usual, and she didn't want to go into the bathtub, so she went straight to bed, while I took the other two to the bathtub, where we had fun. After putting Sammy to bed, Tammy joined me and Emmy for the bedtime story, which is an important time for them. Then I prayed for them and put them to bed.
And imagine that, then I went to the kitchen and made myself my salad that takes way too long to make but I hadn't made it in too long and I felt up for it. I enjoyed eating it.
Just before midnight Tammy came running to me to lay down in bed with me, which she usually does later than that.
Now it's 12:30 am and time to go to bed for me.
