HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1757. Sammy has been getting up really early, and today he was staying home, as was his sister. Randy left only with Emmy to take him to kindergarten. Tammy and Sammy are now covered in bumps from the chickenpox the way Emmy was two weeks ago. Since they stayed home, there was no sleeping for me. Sigh. Sammy has gotten into the habit of coming to me to watch videos of themselves on my computer, and he has some favorite videos he likes watching. And so it was both he and his sister who sat on my bed watching videos - recent ones, as well as from when they were newborns.
By 9:30 Randy was back home and soon took them downstairs to play. I then taught from 11 to noon and went to the kitchen to cook lunch, while Randy left at 12:15 to go pick up Emmy. Tammy, Sammy and I sat down to eat lunch. At 1:30 Randy and Emmy returned home. A little time later I went downstairs to get ready for my 2:30 pm class. I taught until 3:30, then got ready to leave the house. At about 3:45 pm Emmy and I left the house. Tammy was pretty unhappy as she also wanted to come to her kindergarten's year-end summer party. Emmy and I took our scooters with us to be faster. We took two buses and got to their kindergarten at just the right time of 4:30 pm.
There was already a good number of people there. We went to the outside area, where their playground was. They had decorated it nicely and had set up stations everywhere. Every kid received a pass that they put around their necks. Emmy saw his friends right away, and started climbing on the climbing construct, showing me what he could do. Then the teachers called all the kids together. The founder and director of the kindergarten was not there, which was surprising. Emmy's main teacher wasn't there either. The kids gathered all together, and the teacher got her guitar out, then all the kids sang the song they'd been practicing. Then they put on another song that everyone danced to. Emmy danced with a teacher, with friends, and also with me.
Then it was time for the stations. There were four of them. First Emmy had to fish balls out of a baby pool, and he got a stamp for it. Then he made a little boat and put it into a baby pool, and he got another stamp for it. Next he got into a sack, as did another kid, and they ran a race. Emmy won sovereignly; the other kid didn't get far. The fourth station was inside. They got to choose a template, and then the teacher painted it on the kids. Emmy chose a trophy with a big 1 on it.
The only thing left to do was to go to the buffet. They had some drinks and snacks. Then Emmy ran to play with the equipment and his friends. He mainly played with Tammy's best friend, who is clearly also his good friend. They were having fun together. I even got talking with her Mom. I found out that the girl is also gonna go to the elementary school there, so they'll stay together, which is great. Emmy did a lot of running, and as it was really hot, his cheeks soon turned read. He showed me how this big wheel worked, but then he really wanted to play in the sand. He was shoveling there for a while, then ran off again with his friend. He also wanted to show me what he could do on the bar.
I felt bad for Tammy missing out and decided to call her so that she could join us there virtually. She saw her friend and saw the different stations that were set up. We told her a little about what was going on. She kept saying she also wanted to be there and was crying by the time I hung up. I really felt bad for her.
An hour had passed, but we had done everything there was to do. I suggested to Emmy that we'd go home. He didn't want to, but then his friend was also leaving, so we all left. It took us a while, and then we had to wait for the bus unusually long, but then he finally came. When we got off, our second bus was already sitting there, and we got on. Soon it left to take us home.
Jus before 6:30 we were back home, and I went straight to the kitchen to warm up some leftovers for them, then I cut up some fruit for them. It was the beginning of our evening routine that now also includes putting the white stuff on all their chickenpox bumps. Now it's nearly 2 am and time to go to bed.
