Day 1717. Yesterday Sammy went back to kindergarten. Before Randy could come back home from dropping all the kids off, the kindergarten called him to come pick him up. He was coughing really bad and had elevated temperature, which was reason enough for him not to be there, according to their regulations. And so they came home. I had enjoyed that everyone was gone for a change and had added some much-needed sleeping time. In the afternoon I taught for two hours, as well as another hour at 8 pm after the kids had gone to bed. Tuesday is the only day of the week without any afternoon activities and so the kids were downstairs with Randy.

Today Sammy stayed home and so I kept busy with him, while Randy was taking the other kids to kindergarten, as well as later when he went to pick them up. I was wondering where he was as he was gone for two hours. The kids hadn't finished eating lunch so that he had to wait for them to be done. And then the two buses are not the fastest way to go home, but it's the way with the least walking and the kids never want to walk the distance to the tram stop.

I was glad when they'd finally come home. Randy ate lunch and then got ready to leave the house with Sammy. At first he was going to take him to the pediatrician, but then he decided to go to the nearby hospital instead, as the pediatrician is so far away. I had already canceled Sammy's physiotherapy session the day before.

The other kids and I left the house at 3:15 to take the 3:30 train. They wanted to take their scooters, and it was a good trip for that. Thankfully it had warmed up a little again, and the sun was out as well. The train was late, so that the door to the gym was closed before Tammy was inside.

I then sat in the locker room the whole hour their exercise class was going on; I was reading the paper and using my phone. Ever so often the door opened and all the kids went to their drink bottles right there for a drinking break. Twice Emmy came all the way to me just to give me a hug, then he went back inside the gym.

When the class ended, we still had plenty of time as there wasn't a train for a while, so I let them run their scooters in the big courtyard there for a while. Then we headed to the train station to take the 5:23 pm train.

Randy had called a few times using video, as Sammy didn't like the long wait time in the hospital waiting room. And then Randy ran out of data, so that Sammy couldn't watch kids' songs any more. Unfortunately he didn't know how to connect to the hospital wifi. Sammy started crying and crying, disturbing everyone in the hospital, and he wouldn't stop, which wasn't pleasant for Randy or anyone else. The reason they were still there was that they had drawn Sammy's blood and were waiting for the test results. Everything was fine, so he was just given some meds to help him get over the cough faster.

I got home at 5:40 pm with Tammy and Emmy and had to turn my computer on right away to teach a student. A few minutes later Randy and Sammy returned. I taught until 6:30, then went to the kitchen to make dinner and start our evening routine.

Two things worth mentioning: Sammy now goes potty several times a day, and successfully. He's on the way to getting off diapers as well.

And Emmy loves maths. Today he counted correctly to 17. And he often calculates just for fun, holding his hands up with different numbers of fingers, then adding the two hands up. Tammy couldn't care less about maths and can't even count to 5.
