Day 1714. It was not a typical morning, as we were going to a church we hadn't been to in 6 years. We left the house together at 10 am, even though the service was starting at 11 am, as it was a long trip. We took the subway to the end, then wanted to take one tram to another tram, but there was no tram. Instead we saw barriers set up. We decided to walk all the way to the other tram, which was 3 tram stops. When we reached Town Hall square, we saw the big posters and the arch set up over the main street. We soon figured out that it was another run that was going on (after the marathon a few weeks ago). The posters were saying "running for those who can't"; it was a charity run for those in wheelchairs. We kept walking, passed by the parlament, and reached the other tram stop. We waited a little, then got on and rode it for three stops. After getting off, we only had to walk a small distance to the entrance of the theater that is now a church. And it was our first time at that location.

We walked in and saw the registration for kids' ministry a few steps up, and so I went straight there. I registered the children and went inside with them. They had nice rooms. Randy left to go to the sanctuary. It was play time in the beginning, and as they had a toy kitchen, that's where I went with Sammy. Tammy and Emmy climbed up into the "tree house". After some time Sammy had had enough, and all three ended up on the carpet playing with Duplo there.

Then it was snack time, and we went to the other room, where they all sat down by little foam blocks that were used as tables. They were bringing out plates of apple pieces and then lataer peanut locks, and all three were eating them. Then Sammy moved away from us, enjoying having me call after him to stay with us. After snack time, it was teaching time. The worship leader came up from the sanctuary and first did a video from the sanctuary with the kids, a song that had actions. I had Sammy and helped him do the actions. Randy suddenly showed up and decided to stay. After the video, the worship leader did another song with her guitar. Then we all sat down on the floor, and a lady did a little teaching on king Solomon, including a little video. There were a lot of kids there, at least 20. The teacher asked some questions, and when she asked the name of Solomon's father, Emmy was the only one who knew it and said it aloud. I was proud of him.

After the teaching was done, the teacher had some papers to color for the kids. I thought that it was a good time for me to leave and go to the sanctuary. I found my way there and ended up on the galery. A lady was preaching, and I listened. When the service was over, I made my way downstairs to the main floor of the sanctuary to talk to the pastor, who I've known for nearly 20 years. I waited for my turn, then got to talk to him and then his wife. It was great to reconnect with them. They didn't even know we had kids now. After some time Randy arrived with the kids, so they could also meet them.

After some time of talking, it was time to leave. Sammy was already pretty cranky, as it was 12:45 pm. We walked back to the tram stop and rode it back to the ring. When we got there, there were people everywhere. We happened to get there just before the run was starting. We again started walking the distance back to the subway, looking at all the people everywhere. Then the run started. There were over 16,000 people registered to run. It was quite a sight.

When we reached Town Hall square, we decided to veer off and see whether there was any food sold there. The kids had had plenty of snacks, but we needed some real food. However, there were no food stands there. Too bad. We did see a delivery service had a stand, and they had a wheel of fortune there. It was free for anyone to turn it, and Tammy went first. She won a 3€ coupon for the delivery service, then it was Emmy's turn. He tried to turn it hard and nearly had the wheel fall over. The lady then held the wheel, and he won some sunscreen. It was Sammy's turn, and Randy lifted his wheelchair up so he could turn it. He also won a coupon. Then we continued walking in the direction of the subway.

By about 1:30 pm we were back home. Time to rest! It was a quiet afternoon, just what we needed. Just after 6 pm I started makig their dinner which was the beginning of our evening routine.
