Day 1701. Monday is unique as Sammy does not go to kindergarten. That meant that Randy took Tammy and Emmy to kindergarten right away, when they left just before 8:30 am. That also meant I could not lie back down to get some more sleep, as Sammy required my attention. He was having fun with me, and he always wants to go potty at some point and usually does something. That's great progress.

Randy returned at 9:45 am and left with Sammy at 10 am. Finally it was just me at home, and I could finally get some office work done. I had already made the casserole and put it into the oven, while Sammy and I were at home together. At 11:45 they returned from horse therapy that Sammy had greatly enjoyed again, and Randy turned right around to go get the other two from kindergarten. I got Sammy out of his wheelchair and took the coat and shoes off. He then played with his remote-controlled car for some time before turning his attention to me again. I gave him his food and worked as much as I could in between my interactions with Sammy.

At 1:30 pm I called Randy as they should have returned home no later than 1:15, and then they walked through the door. I wished it didn't take that long to go to the kindergarten.

They were still hungry, so they also had some casserole, while Randy was eating. I was really tired but there was no time to sleep. It was after 2 pm, when I dressed them for their ball-playing class, and at 2:30 we all left the house together.

It was cold, but at least the sun was out. We took the subway and then the tram and got to the school 10 minutes early. Tammy and Emmy went down the slide once, then we went inside the school. We took our coats and shoes off and went inside the gym.

The balls were already spread out in the gym, and the kids started playing with them right away. Then the teachers called everyone to the big mat and explained the first game to them. A few kids got balls and had to touch the others with them who then had to go to the big mat to "wash off". Both Tammy and Emmy had their turns and did a great job.

In the second game most kids had a hoop around them that they were holding, and the few kids with balls had to throw their balls through the hop. The kid then had to drop their hoop and wait for another hoop-kid to touch them, so they could continue running. Again, both of them did  a great job.

Sammy was restless and wanted to go swing at the playground. When he's determined, he's determined. He insisted, and Randy finally left with him to go to the playground around the corner.

For the third game the kids were split into two teams, and our kids were in opposing teams. Each team had balls, and the goal was to throw all the balls to the other side. In the other each side counted how many balls they had. Each team won once.

In one picture you can see Tammy crying and running towards me. A ball had hit her on the forehead, so she was hurting and crying and coming to me for comfort. She stayed with me for a while, then rejoined the game.

And then the class was already over. There were no obstacle courses today. They sat down on the mat for a final talk, then we went to the locker room to get dressed and leave.

For the third time in a row my 4:30 student had canceled on short notice, so I called Randy and told him we were coming to them at the playground. However, Sammy was not happy with Daddy alone and crying for me, so we ran into them half-way to the playground. Then we wall went to the playground.

I was surprised that there were no kids whatsoever there, as there had been so many last time. It was probably because of the cold weather.  Sammy went straight into the baby swing, while the other two went to the slide. Then all three wanted to go into the round slide, and they were having so much fun together, laughing all the time. I wished I could have succeeded in taking a good picture of them laughing. Emmy then left them and went to swing by himself, while the other two continued.

Then it was time to go. They went down the slide one more time, then we walked to the tram stop and got on the tram sitting there that took us to the subway.

We got home before 5 pm, which was nice, as it gave me some more time to scan materials for my 5:30 pm student. Randy took the kids downstairs to play, and they returned before I was done with my student. Once I was done, I went to the kitchen to make their dinner. They ate, then continued in the bathtub, then we got them ready for bed. I put Sammy to bed, then read a story to the other two before they went to bed. Then I went to the kitchen to cut up my salad which takes time, and it also takes time to eat. Then I started working on today's pictures, and now it's nearly 1:30 and high time to go to bed, as I have to get up early tomorrow.
