HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1673. This morning Sammy did not go to kindergarten, as he had his second of three horse therapy session so they can determine whether this is the right time for him to continue doing it, or whether they should wait until he's older. This time it was Randy who took him there. The other two stayed home with me. The cleaning lady came just after 9 am, and the kids were on their school tablets, while I was doing office work. At 11 am I went to the kitchen to make lunch. Soon Randy and Sammy returned. It wasn't until 12:30 that we sat down to eat.
After we had eaten, Randy left to go to the grocery store. The kids were playing. At 2 pm we started getting them ready to leave the house, and at 2:20 pm we all left together to make the 2:32 train.
We rode it for one stop, then got on the subway for one stops Then we had to walk a little bit to get to the school. Since the kids stopped taking their dance class there two months ago, they haven't been back there. Today was only a one-time Easter event - a crafts class. Our first time taking a crafts class in one of these schools was a disaster as they did not want Sammy there. This school is different and welcomed him, and I was allowed to stay in class to help him.
We got there early and joined the other two kids already in class. Just before 3 pm the teacher arrived who was a South American lady. There was also a good number of other kids who still arrived. We had already sat down at the table, paid the fee for the materials, and she handed out canvasses to all the kids. All the parents except for me had to leave the room. Randy stayed outside the room, sitting on the floor, where we could actually see him through the glass doors.
After all the kids had removed the plastic of their canvasses, she put three different colors of paint on each one and gave everyone a brush to distribute the colors on the canvas until all the white was gone. I helped Sammy, and he did a great job. So did the others. It was the background of our "three birds on a branch" artwork. Then she put brown paint on all the canvasses for the branch. Next they were given yellow and red pain to put some blooming petals on the tree. Sammy kept playing with the plastic protecting the table, trying to tear it apart, and he smeared the paint in his face and on me. He did not like it, when I told him to stop destroying the table cover. He then asked for Daddy to come replace me. So I went outside to get him, and then we both ended up staying in the room, which was the best solution, as they had to cut out the birds and wings next and cutting is still hard for them. Tammy was having a hard time but did it. Emmy is behind in that skill, so I helped him out, as well as helping Sammy. After gluing the wings, eyes and noses on the birds, they glued the birds on their canvasses. Then the artwork was done. I think they've done a fantastic job. We were the first ones done, and the class had already gone 10 minutes overtime. We took the canvasses and left.
But the kids didn't want to go home yet; they wanted to go in the library right there. And so we went to the kids section, and the kids brought me books to read to them. Randy sat with Sammy where the English kids' books were. We stayed there for some time, then decided to get going.
Suprisingly we ran into the arts teacher, when we left the library, as she was also just leaving. We walked to the subway, took it for one stop, then stayed down there for another ten minutes. The kids were playing with me and having fun. Then we took the elevator up to the platform our train was leaving from.
Just after 5:30 pm we were back home. Everyone stayed upstairs to play. At 6:15 pm I went to the kitchen to start making their dinner. They ate, then went to the bathtub, then we got them ready for bed. I put Sammy to bed first, then read a missions story to the other two. They then brushed their teeth, I prayed for them, and they went to bed. Randy sat down with them, while I went to the kitchen to make myself something to eat. I ate, then started working on the pictures. Now it's nearly 1 am, and I have yet to take care of the kitchen.
