Day 1646. I went to bed really late last night, and then Tammy and Emmy kept me up for a while, so my night was way too short. Thankfully I could stay in bed this morning, and once Randy had gone downstairs with the kids, it got quiet. I'm glad I had set my alarm for 10 am, as I was teaching at 10:30. It was tough getting up, but I was ready in time.

Before I was done teaching, Randy had already come upstairs with the kids. When I went to the kitchen, I found flowers, chocolate, socks and a card from him. It's our 9-year anniversary today. I then gave him chocolate with our wedding picture on it as a gift.

At noon Randy left to go pick up Sammy from kindergarten, while I went to the kitchen to warm up yesterday's leftovers for the kids. Randy and Sammy usually return around 12:40, and then they eat, even though Sammy already gets a lunch at kindergarten at 11:30 am. After they had eaten, all of the kids had some icecream. Then Emmy started complaining that his belly was hurting. I was already getting ready for my 2 pm student. He kept whining and whining, and just as I was about to start teaching, he said he wanted to go lie in his bed because he was hurting so much. Randy had already gone downstairs with all the kids at that point.

I taught until 3:15, and there was some commotion because of Emmy hurting so bad. Randy suggested we all stay home and not go to ice-skating class. However, Emmy said he was a little better, and I told him he could always leave the ice and sit down if he needed to. After all, this was supposed to be previous to last class of this winter.

And so we left at 3:40 pm to take two subways and go to the ice-skating rink. We put their shoes, gloves and helmets on and walked to the school area. It was a warm day with 16 degrees Celsius, and so the ice was covered in water. Emmy was not complaining or saying he did not want to go on the ice. I was surprised and impressed. When we reached the school area, they simply walked onto the ice and joined their class that had just started. However, he only stayed on the ice very briefly, before he came back off and walked to us. He said he wanted to drink, drank some, and returned to the ice. A few minutes later he came back again. This time he said his belly was hurting and that he couldn't ice-skate. So he sat down with us to watch Tammy. Emmy returned to the ice one more time a little later, only to return rather quickly again.

Tammy seemed to be skating faster than ever today, but she also fell a few times. When they came off the ice for their break, which was a little earlier than usual, her pants were completely wet and her coat partly wet. We sat down for a snack and talked and finally decided to go home, as her stockings and feet were wet inside her shoes as well, which made her feel cold. It wasn't pleasant for her at all. And so we all went to the changing room, where we took their shoes etc. off and their regular shoes back on. I felt for Tammy, when I saw her soaked stockings. Then we left and walked back to the subway to return home. Given the conditions, we decided not to come next week; they had added one more class next week that we would have had to pay extra for.

As soon as we were home at 6 pm, Tammy took her wet clothes off. I made hot chocolate for them, as they had asked for it, and lay down with Tammy and Emmy for a few minutes to warm up. Then I went to the kitchen to make their dinner. They ate, then ate their fruit in the bathtub, then we got them ready for bed. I read them a Bible story, they brushed their teeth, then I prayed for them.  Tammy lay down in my bed, and Emmy in his. Normally they fall asleep really quickly. However, I had mentioned that Daddy and I were gonna eat some food and watch a movie together because of our anniversary. I probably shouldn't have, because suddenly they were wide awake and didn't want us to go down downstairs. Randy sat down in the chair by the boys, as usual. At some point I went downstairs to choose a movie and wait for Randy, when I heard Tammy crying. I went back upstairs to comfort her and soon returned downstairs. This time they fell asleep. After I had waited for some time I went to get Randy, and we finally got to sit down to eat together and watch a movie. Unfortunately they had delivered our food 45 minutes before the time I had requested, and it had gotten late, so it wasn't very warm any more. And the movie wasn't that great. After we were done eating and had watched half the movie, we went back upstairs to each do what we usually do at night. I downloaded the pictures and edited them, then started writing my report. I also still had to do some stuff for one of my students today. And so it's 1:30 am now.
