HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1659. Yesterday was Sunday, and the only Sunday of this month where they had their swim class. The teacher's goal is for all the kids to be able to swim without rings this summer, and they're well on their way there. Tammy and Emmy do really well now, when they try to swim on their own. She showed them the arm movement again, but it's not easy. And both of them dive while swimming, instead of keeping their head out of the water.
After a great half hour class, we still stayed at the pool for another hour having fun together in the water. Then we left to go home. We had lunch at home, got some rest, and then left the house again to go visit our friend in the hospital for the second time. We had a good time with her and then went back home, where I tried to get some work done for our upcoming trip to the missions conference on Wednesday.
Last night, Sammy woke up crying and vomited twice at different times. The first I had to change all his sheets. The second time I picked him up on time to not have to change sheets again. Thankfully he slept fine for the rest of the night. And thankfully he was fine during the day today, even though he ate less than usual.
Today Sammy did not go to kindergarten, because we needed him to come with us to the hairdresser's. We left the house at 9:15, took the subway to the end, then a tram, and then still had quite a walk to accomplish. At 10 am we got there, and I don't know how she did it, but it only took her 70 minutes to die and cut my hair and cut the boys' hair. She didn't know both boys needed a haircut, so she was under time pressure with other customers coming. We had a good time there. While the hair dye did its work on my hair, she first cut Emmy's hair, then I held Sammy on my lap for her to cut his hair. He does so much better now. He didn't much like it, but he didn't cry at all or cause any trouble. I was so glad, when the boys looked like boys again!
After we left, we went back home, where we ate some leftovers. I was pretty tired, but I had a student from 1:30 to 2:20 pm. Randy and the kids were downstairs playing during that time. Then we got everybody dressed and ready and left the house at 2:30 pm.
It was raining today, and we had our umbrellas with us, much to the kids' delight. We took the subway, then the tram, then walked to the school. The ball-playing class started at 3 pm with free game play. I was playing ball with Tammy, who catches balls really well now, and then with Sammy. Emmy was doing acrobatics on the thick mat. Later, when they had the mat on an incline, he even did a backward somersault, rolling down the incline. He's never seen that before, so I was really impressed.
The the teachers called all the kids together on the mat and told them about the game they were gonna play, stink bomb. Three kids had a ball each, and they had to catch the other kids and touch them with that ball. The kids that were caught had to go on the big mat in the middle and "wash off". They did three rounds, and in the second round Tammy had a ball, and in the third round Emmy. They got quite a few kids, and they were also touched a few times. Emmy went straight for his sister, when it was his turn.
After that game, they set up a little parcours, including the mat on an incline. They had to go up and jump down. Then they had to throw the ball through the hoop and jump down, and continue on in the circle until coming back to the mat. Tammy did a good number of circles, while Emmy stayed on the mat a lot, doing his somersaults. Sammy wanted to go on the mat as well, and I took him there to jump, then Randy took him there to jump. He was having so much fun! I'm glad he gets to come to this class with us. All the other classes don't allow parents to watch.
And then the class was already over. Tammy was disappointed and wanted to go on, but they had another class after us. We went to the locker room to get dressed and left the school to go back home. I would finally have had the time to go to the playground with them for a little bit, but everything was wet, and it was still raining.
Just after 4:30 we were back home, and I got some work done until starting to teach at 5:20. Randy and the kids were downstairs to play, but came back upstairs before I was done teaching. Once I was done, I started making their dinner, then we went through our typical evening routine. I lay down with Tammy and Emmy on the top bunk bed, and they were soon asleep. I then got up and went to the kitchen to make my salad.
Now it's already 12:30 am, and I still need to take care of the kitchen. Tomorrow I have a super intense day, and the day after we leave for the conference.
