HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1562. Sammy was up first, and Randy was up before my alarm went off at 7:15 am. Tammy was asleep to my left and Emmy to my right, and even when the alarm went off and I quickly cut it off, they continued sleeping. After a while Tammy woke up first, then Emmy, and soon they were all up and asking to open their advent calendars. Sammy had already opened his while at the table with Daddy, the two of them being the only ones eating.
It was closer to 8:30 by the time Randy and Sammy left, as the kindergarten had asked for Sammy to wear a snowsuit etc. as they wanted to go outside today. The morning was spent working on the computer as well as with the kids. Now that we got the new educational gimmick working on their tablets, they are excited to learn, and I'm excited by what I've seen so far.
After lunch, I did not have much time until teaching at 2:15 pm. And now that the kids have stopped taking a nap, we don't get one any more either anyway. They were watching stuff on their tablets at first. then Randy took them downstairs to their playroom. I got ready for my student, teaching 75 minutes today. After I was done at 3:30 pm, I had to get ready right away to leave the house. Randy had already put the snowsuits on the kids. While Sammy had said earlier that he wasn't coming with us, he had of course changed his mind and did not want to stay home with Daddy.
Thankfull it was not that cold, just under freezing, and the sky was clear. Not like last week, when it was cold and raining, which was terrible. We took two subways, then walked to the ice-skating rink for them to have their fourth session in this class. Randy got one kid ready, while I put the shoes, gloves and helmet on the other, with Sammy whining the whole time. It takes time to get them ready, so we were a little late by the time we reached the school's area on the ice. Tammy and Emmy went straight on and joined their class.
Emmy seemed to have made a jump forward in his skills. He did not fall much, but caught himself a lot. And he started to glide a little, making him faster. Most of the time they are all walking on the ice. They did different exercises to accomplish. Pick up little cones and put them back down, and walk and bow down to touch them. They also did a freeze game and they had a teddy bear that one kid had, and the other kids had to catch him and get it. Tammy caught the teddy bear once and ran to not be caught by the others.
One time Tammy volunteered and made a roof with the teacher with their arms, and all the other kids had to duck and go through. All the other kids got to make a roof as well.
Sammy was not quite as cranky as last week, but he was still cranky. He was watching children's songs for a while, but then he'd had enough, and it was up to us to keep him happy, which is not that easy. 80 minutes is a long time for him to be there and wait for his siblings to bed one, but if he stays at home, he'll cry for 3 hours until we're back. Just before the class was over, I decided to take Sammy to the changing room and wait with him for the others there, but before we got there, the others already joined us. We got them changed and left to go home.
By 6:30 pm we were back home. I went straight to the kitchen to make their dinner, and Sammy joined me. After eating at the table and in the kitchen, the kids continued in the bathtub. After they were all out and in their pj's, they were eager to put their boots outside our door as St. Nicolas was coming during the night to fill them. Either with coals if they had been naughty, or with candy if they had been good kids. And so we went to the door, Emmy worked on opening the door, and then they put their boots out, all lined up next to each other. Then they closed the door, giddy with anticipation.
We opened the advent calendars, read a story, they bruhed their teeth, and I prayed for them before putting them to bed. With their new toothbrush and app, it takes so much longer for them to be done with it, especially taking care of their digital toothbrush pet. And so it was nearly 8:40 before they were in bed. Randy sat down with them, while I got myself something to eat and started preparing for my 9:30 pm student. And whenever I teach that late, it gets a lot later before I get done with everything. And so I went to bed at 2 am without having finished today's report.
