Day 1529. This is Sammy's 6th week in kindergarten. Most days it's Randy who takes him there, and the goal was for him to leave for longer periods of time each day until he can take him there and come back four hours later to pick him up. Before this week, half an hour was the longest he was in the room without one of us, and that was when I was there with him. On Monday, Randy was gone for 90 minutes. Sammy was whining and asking for us, but not crying. So that was a big step forward. On Tuesday, Randy was gone for even longer. Wednesday was a holiday, so he was home, but today, Randy was even gone for 3.5 hours. That was fast progress! Tomorrow Randy is going to drop him off at 8:30 and return to pick him up at noon.

This has been a quiet week for us after a very busy weekend. With the holiday on Wednesday, schools are on fall break this week, and so some of the classes they take are on break as well, like the music class on Monday and the exercise class on Wednesday, and on Tuesday they don't have classes - yet. And so I've been teaching every afternoon, while Randy and the kids were downstairs playing.

Today was the first day I/we left the house. Randy and Sammy left just after 8:15, and at 8:45 I left the house with the other two. We rode the subway to the end, then took a tram, and then walked for a while to get to the new location of my hairdresser. Tammy and Emmy were watching videos on their tablets, while she did my hair. Then we went back home, but stopped at two banks on the way. And so it was already close to 12:30 by the time we got home, and Randy and Sammy were already back. I warmed up the rest of the soup from yesterday, and we sat down to eat. At 1:30 I put them to bed, and today Sammy fell asleep right away, while the boys would not go to sleep yesterday. Emmy and Tammy also fell asleep with me lying between them. Once all three were sleeping, I went to my own bed, where Randy was already sleeping, and also lay down to sleep.

It was Emmy who woke us up, when he came into the room, and he came at just the right time. Randy got up and got Sammy ready to leave the house with him at 2:45 pm. By that time Tammy was up as well. They went to Sammy's weekly physiotherapy session; last week he had missed it, which was an oversight on our part.

Tammy and Emmy started playing, mainly with their tablets, while I got ready for my 4 pm student. I then taught until 6 pm. Randy and Sammy returned at 4:30, and they all went downstairs to play. Before that, Tammy had done some drawing, as she wanted to "do school".

They came back upstairs just after I had finished teaching, and at 6:30 pm I went to the kitchen together with Sammy, where I started making their dinner and had fun with Sammy, as we  usually do. He now stands holding on to the bars with just one hand and then dances, which is just the cutest thing. We're having lots of fun together.

After they had eaten, they went to the bathtub, where they continued eating, then we got them ready for bed. After a story, I prayed for them and put them to bed. The newest thing is that they want to go lie down in Sammy's bed with him to cuddle before returning to their own beds to sleep. Randy sat down by them, while I grabbed something to eat and started correcting homework and preparing for my 9:30 pm class. Just after 10:30 pm I was done and continued working until now. It's 2 am, so later than usual.
