HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1808. We are already three days into this week. Tammy and Emmy have been going to kindergarten, while it's Sammy's second week at home with his kindergarten closed. I miss being able to go back to bed at 8 am, when Randy usually leaves with all three kids to go to kindergarten. I'm now more tired than I used to be, as I have to occupy Sammy until Randy returns around 9:45 am. Yesterday was the only day where I didn't have a student in the morning, so I enjoyed going back to bed once Randy returned.
On Monday the new water hose and little pool arrived, and the kids were eager for it to be put up so they could have fun in the water. Yesterday afternoon I put the pool up right outside our apartment, Randy connected the hose to the faucet, and I only turned the water up half-way this time so we would not have another burst hose. I lowered the hose down our balcony, and Randy then grabbed it to point it at the pool and fill it. Emmy also enjoyed holding the hose and playing with it. It took a lot longer to fill the pool than I had expected. I still had a student, but it worked out fine. They enjoyed the pool while I was teaching. And today the water guns arrived, so they had even more fun, when they jumped into the water, when we got home at 6 pm. Then Randy let all the water out of the pool.
This morning I taught from 10 to noon, then Randy left to go pick up Tammy and Emmy, so that Sammy and I were alone for the second two-hour slot of the day. I was really tired again, but that doesn't concern Sammy. He lay in bed with me and played with the fan and was watching videos of himself. We were also having some fun moments, with Sammy doing lots of laughing.
Randy usually returns around 1:45 pm with the kids, then he gets to eat his lunch. Sammy and I had already eaten while we were alone. Today we did not go downstairs. The kids got on their tablets, and I lay down for a much-needed nap. It was brutal, when my alarm woke me 10 minutes before I was to teach. I taught from 3 to 4 pm, then we got ready to leave the house.
Sammy started going to the "Rolli-Kids" in May, where they play games to practice steering the wheelchair. They sent an invitation to a downtown sports event today, and we decided to go to catch up with Sammy's friends, as his class has been on summer break. We took the subway, then a tram and got off Town Hall square.
They have film festival going on there at night all summer and have lots of restaurants set up there. We walked by the restaurants to approach the main stage area. The sports event had already started. They had children and young people show what they can do on the trampoline. It was very impressive and impressed especially Emmy who is into stuff like that. I then saw one of Sammy's two teachers and decided we'd go to see him. Emmy wanted to stay and keep watching, so I left with Sammy and Tammy.
We got to where the wheelchair parcours was set up, and where Sammy's teacher was waiting together with a few other people in wheelchairs. He greeted Sammy. One other girl from Sammy's class was there as well. He tried to talk to Sammy for a while, but Sammy looked tired and didn't talk much. He told us that their parcours was going to be open after the show part going on at that time, so we decided to return to the boys.
After the trampoline show was over, a dance teacher came to do a half-hour dance session. Tammy was interested and went up front with all the other people. I went with her. But when it started, she decided she didn't want to do it after all.
So the five of us all walked over to the wheelchair parcours. Sammy's teacher had never met his siblings before. They had opened the parcours and Sammy went through first. His sister was helping him, as he's not very good at steering yet. Then Emmy wanted to try, and he did a really good job. Tammy wanted to be next, but already gave up after a minute, which surprised me. Sammy then did it a second time, this time with my and Randy's help. We then talked a little with Sammy's teacher and then left.
Tammy was whining bad that she was so hot. Yes, it was a hot day, and she should probably have worn shorter pants. We walked to the tram stop, took the tram and then the subway. She was whining the whole time. I then let them use my phone to watch Peppa Pig on the subway so she'd calm down, which she did.
By 6 pm we were back home, and they were eager to jump into their little pool. I went to the kitchen to make their dinner, while they were having fun. Then they came out and upstairs to eat. After they were done eating, I gave them a quick wash in the bathtub, then we got them ready for bed. I prayed for Sammy and put him to bed, then lay down with Tammy and Emmy to read them a story, like I do every night. After that I prayed for them, and they went to bed. Of course I had to tug them in and stroke their hair for a little bit. Sammy is often asleep by then, but not tonight. He was asking for his little fan to keep him cool in this heat. Randy sat by them, so I went to the kitchen to make my dinner, then sat down to eat. After having eaten, I started working on the pictures and my report. Now it's midnight, and I still have to take care of the dishes. It's now usually about 1 am, when I go to bed.
