HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1770. I went to bed at 3 am last night. I was glad that Sammy finally slept longer, even two hours longer, getting up at 8:30 am. Emmy then woke up as well, and Randy got up. Tammy and I stayed in bed. At one point she also got up and left, while I took advantage of the opportunity not having to get up. The kids were pretty loud, so my sleep was intermittent. Eventually I also got up.
We still had time until having to leave the house at 1 pm. The kids were playing, and we were all relaxing. Then we got them ready and drove the few minutes to the restaurant, where we were meeting our friends. I had not allowed the kids to have any more snacks just before we left, and so all three were really hungry and whining about it. It took some time for the food to come, but then it finally did, and everybody was happy. We had a good time of fellowship while eating.
Then we got back into the car and drove to a gondola to go up the mountain. On the short 15-minute ride there, both Tammy and Emmy fell asleep in their car seats, which was remarkable. It was about 3 pm. When we got there, we opened the car doors and let them sleep a few more minutes. Then we got them out and walked to the entrance of the gondola with our friends. I was carrying Emmy at first, but Tammy wanted me to carry her, so I carried her briefly, which is all I can do, as she's heavy now.
While waiting for the gondola to arrive, they saw the huge bear sitting there, and we took a picture. Then they watched the gondola approach. They had never been on a gondola before, just seen them from the outside, and they were excited to get on. We went to the side, where we could look back down in the direction we were coming from. The kids were enjoying the view and were not afraid at all, which was good to see. They had a good time on the gondola. When we stepped out on top, it was pretty windy. We walked a little, with a glass railing next to us, enjoying the view. Everybody but me also went on a platform sticking way out so you had a better view all around. I myself am not very fond of heights. As it was windy and a little cold, we then went inside the restaurant.
We got a table right by the window with the same wonderful view of the town and lake Constance, and ordered dessert. The kids all had icecream, and they were given a kid's menu and crayons so they could draw on it. They requested several papers to draw. Especially Tammy impressed with her coloring skills. Sammy was also enjoying the crayons, but he was also looking at kids' books they had and made me read a few to him. We were all having a good time. Before we left, we walked to the other end of the restaurant to enjoy the view there. Then we walked back to the gondola and waited for the next one to arrive. Once again Sammy was very impatient for it to get going and excited, when it finally did. They all enjoyed the ride back down.
Then we said our goodbyes to our friends and rode the 15 minutes back home. Finally an evening at home, where they could go to bed at a normal time. The lady whose house we are staying at came by and offered to bring us some hot sandwiches, which was really sweet. Those ended up being our dinner, together with some leftovers. We ate later than usual, but in the end, the kids were in bed at their regular time, just before 8 pm, after having enjoyed their shower. Sammy was asleep first, then Tammy, but Emmy couldn't fall asleep for the longest time. It was about 9:30 pm before he did.
Randy and I were enjoying a quiet evening, me on the computer, he on his phone. Now it's after midnight, and he's gone to bed, while I'm still gonna do some cleaning up.
