HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1388. Everyone was up early, and breakfast was earlier than usual, so that the kids were dressed and went downstairs some time before it was 9 am. Sammy stayed upstairs with me and waited for the arrival of the Mobile Support lady just after 9 am. He was excited to see her, and she took him downstairs to the others, where she played with them all for the next 90 minutes. As for me, I sat down by my computer to work. At 11:15 Randy came upstairs with the kids who were eager to watch or play. Once in a while Randy makes omelets for everyone, and today was such a day. So he went to the kitchen, while I sat back down at the computer to continue working. Sammy was in his bed listening to children's songs and interacting with me quite a bit, as we could see each other.
It was 12:15 before we sat down to eat At 1:15 it was time to stop watching or playing or listening to music, as it was nap time. Sammy now alwalys wants me to sing to them, so I do. The boys were asleep first, but then Tammy was also asleep by the time I left at 1:40 pm.
It was 2:15 pm before I lay down myself, which I should have done earlier. At 2:30 Emmy came into the room, just as I was about to fall asleep. Then Sammy woke up, and I gave him his headset with songs to keep him quiet a little longer. Randy was taking a nap, and I wanted to buy him a little more time. After a few minutes Emmy left, which gave me the chance to actually fall asleep. At 3 pm my alarm already went off; I hadn't slept long.
I started cutting up apples to take with us and getting ready for my 3:30 student and for leaving right after. The kids never went downstairs. I finished teaching at 4:20 pm, then we quickly left the house to catch the 4:32 train, which we did. We always have fun running together a little to make sure we make it.
After getting off the train, we took the subway for one stop, then walked the rest of the way to school. We returned the DVD's we had to the library, then took the elevator up to the school. The other students were already sitting on the mats in the classroom, when we got there. She then started the class right away.
She did a greeting song, going from child to child, and asking each child what they wanted everyone to do. Tammy went first, and she said what Emmy would have said, "shake your butt". I was wondering what Emmy was gonna say, and he surprised me, when he said, "clap". That was way too ordinary for him!
Then the teacher got pictures of stuff having to do with American Indians out, as well as a hairband with feathers, that went around so that every kid to have it on for a little bit. Everyone got a drum, and we did some songs. Then she did different rhytms that had meaning, and the kids had to do what the rhythm meant, like hide or go a certain place or crawl on the ground.
She then got a yellow hat and a xylophone out, and the kids got to have the hat on and play something on the xylophone for everyone. A few kids were too shy to do that, but of course not ours. They enjoy the attention.
Lastly she handed out fabric to dance with and turned music on that they all got to dance to. I had Sammy most of the time and danced with him, making him laugh a lot. Then it was already time for the good-bye song, followed by the kids getting a stamp on their paper and on their hands. We left, stopped at the bathroom, and went to the library, where the kids picked out a few more videos - for the last time, as last week is the last class.
It was a warm and sunny day and we had no more appointments, so it was possible to go to the playground today. However, Tammy had a really pretty dress on, too pretty for the playground, but it worked out in the end. It was just behind the school, and there were lots of kids there. First they went to the slide. Today Emmy was too scared to climb up to the top to slide down, but he did climb up the slide itself and got up there that way. Tammy had no problem getting up to the top. Last time I had climbed up myself to help them both master the last part to get to the top.
Randy took Sammy to the other part of the playground, and Tammy soon followed them there. Emmy and I followed a little later. They were on the carroussel there for a while, but really wanted to get on the swing that was full of children. We finally stood next to it to wait for our turn, and the girls were nice enough to let the kids on after a while. They didn't stay on there for very long anyway. After they got off, they did a few more things, then we decided it was time to go home. Sammy was screaming and biting and scratching because he did not want to go into his chair, but together we managed to get him in. Then we left and walked to the tram stop. The tram took us to the train station, where the train arrived three minutes later, so perfect timing. It was the 6:57 train, so by 7:15 pm we were back home.
I immediately started making their dinner, and they started eating, but I was not watching the time as I was not teaching. They went into the bathtub, then we got them ready for bed, and they still wanted to hear a story. It got later and later and soon it was 8:45 and they were still not in bed. By 9 pm I lef them, and Randy took my place. I got myself something to eat, then went back to work. Now it's nearly 1 am, and we have an early morning tomorrow.
