HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1355. Yesterday I ended up not having any afternoon students, and so we made the decision that I was gonna take Sammy to physiotherapy, when it's usually Randy who does, as it had been a long time since my last time. Sammy is always happy, when I take him, and so he was pretty upset this morning, when I did not take him, but Randy did, even though I had told him yesterday that we had switched.
It was great being with Sammy for his physiotherapy session, and I was included in the procedure. Sammy was doing really well, even impressing his therapist. And he was having a good time. After an hour we left to go back home and stopped at the grocery store on the way home.
When we got home, there were Daddy, Tammy and Emmy outside, running their bikes and scooters. And so Sammy stayed with them right away, while I went inside to work. I took some pictures of them having fun from our balcony.
There was nothing typical about the morning today, even though it started the typical way. After breakfast, I cleaned up the kids and dressed them, and at 10 am Randy left with Sammy for his speech therapy session. I stayed home with Tammy and Emmy and used the time for a teaching moment. I put some French kids' songs on for them to review the greetings, the colors and the numbers. They were enjoying them and participating. Then I gave them crayons, and they did some coloring. While they were busy with that, I was cooking lunch in the kitchen. And then it was already time to get ready to leave the house. It was raining, and so they got to wear rain boots for the very first time, much to their excitement. We also took our umbrellas with us.
The kids were excited to be allowed to walk through all the water puddles, though I asked them not to jump like Peppa Pig does. I had planned on walking, but because of the rain we took the subway for one stop instead. Then we had to wait for Randy and Sammy who were coming from speech therapy. It was quite cold because of the rain, and I got a little chilly, since we waited for about half an hour. Then they finally arrived, 9 minutes before the bus was to leave. We got on, rode it for 5 stops, and then still had to walk a bit. It was more rural there, so that there wasn't even a sidewalk. We had to be careful walking on the road, and it was still raining.
Then we reached the apartment complex, rang the bell, and were let in. A very nice couple greeted us. I had already found the triple bunkbed I wanted to buy for our kids a long time ago, but then Randy started looking at used beds, had found this one and really wanted it. I didn't think there was any way it would fit into our tight space, but after some measuring, I think it's just about gonna fit. When the kids saw it, all three fell in love with it right away! Tammy and Emmy will be sleeping on top, and Sammy on the bottom, and it even has a little cave area with curtains, and a rope and swing. The kids even climbed up to check it out. It's not cheap, but it's used and cheaper than new, and it's really sturdy. In about 3 to 4 weeks we'll transport it to our house to set it up.
We said our good-byes and walked back to the bus stop, where we did not have to wait long thankfully. Once back at the subway, we decided to walk home from there as it had nearly stopped raining. By about 12:45 we were back home. I immediately put the food on the table that I had cooked; it was already much later than usual, but the kids still didn't eat much, none of them. They all had ice-cream, and then it was already nap time, as it was after 1:15 It took until nearly 1:30 before they were all in bed. I sat down by them, while Randy left on a grocery store run. By 1:45 I left them, and about half an hour later I also closed my eyes for a nap.
I was woken up way too early. Emmy came and lay down next to me for a short time, then left again. My alarm went off at 3 pm, as I wanted to cut some apple and make sandwiches to take with us, but as Randy was taking the kids downstairs, and it got quiet, I fell back asleep. I was shocked, when I woke up, and it was a few minutes before 3:30 pm, when I had a student.
I quickly got ready, even though I was very tired, and sat down for my lesson that lasted until 4:20. I then cut up an apple, and by 4:30 we all left the house.
We walked to the subway, rode it for a few stops, then went up to street level to take a tram for one stop. Then we walked the rest of the way to the school. We had to wait briefly, as the previous class had not ended yet. Then we walked inside.
We started the same way as last week. She put newspaper sheets on the ground, then we were all dancing while the music was going. Once it stopped, we had to stand on a newspaper. I was dancing with Sammy and rolled him over one each time. And each time we folded the paper once, so that it was pretty small to stand on in the end. Then we unfolded it more and more again until it was back to its original size.
And then they were allowed to make paper planes out of them again. Soon they started making balls out of them and attacking me with them, and I threw the balls back at them. We were having lots of fun.
Then we played "fire, water, ice". Again we were dancing, then the music stopped, and then teacher said one of the three words. With fire, we had to lie down on the floor, with water, get on the chairs, and with ice, stand in a corner of the room. The kids were having lots of fun.
Right in the beginning Sammy kept saying Emmy's name, as he wanted to dance with him, but Emmy did not want to. I asked Emmy to dance with his brother at least for a short time, and he finally did, much to Sammy's delight. Emmy then did a funny "butt dance" that made us all laugh, and so he kept doing it, and I filmed it.
And then it was already time for the final song, the alarm clock song that Sammy likes so much. I put him back into the wheelchair, as he gets pretty heavy after carrying him and dancing with him for a while. And off went walking in a circle, changing direction periodically. Tammy and Emmy were once again the only ones running and laughing, while everyone else was walking.
Then the class was over. We put their shoes and coats back on and left to go home. We decided to take the tram, so we waited there for a little bit, then got on. On the way to the subway we stopped at the grocery store, as that store has two items I can't get at other grocery stores. Then we continued on to the subway, and at about 6:40 pm we were back home.
It was rather late, and I immediately started making their bread with salami and cutting fruit. Then they went straight into the bathtub and ate their food there while playing. We then got them out and ready for bed, I read a Bible story to them, prayed for them, and flew them into bed. It was 8:15 pm, when I sat down by them, and I was pretty tired and worn out. They had not watched any videos today, as they had not behaved very well. I stayed for a while, then Randy took my place, and I went to the kitchen to get myself something to eat. After having eaten, I went back to work. Now it's 1 am and time to finish up in the kitchen and go to bed. It's another long day tomorrow.
