Day 1317. I don't remember the details of this morning, but it seems that Sammy is now becoming the one who's up first. Emmy was up later than usual, and he helped me get Daddy out of bed as it was after 8 am, and we needed to leave the house by 9:30 am.

We walked to the subway; it was another really cold day with temperatures close to freezing, plus strong wind. We were glad once we were inside the subway. We rode it to the end, then went up to street level and still had a walk ahead of us. It became obvious that we were gonna barely make it on time.

We got to the Easter market and the square, where the puppet performance was, just after 10 am. The show had already started, and there were lots of children and adults everywhere. I pushed Sammy to the front in his wheelchair. Most people are understanding, when they see a child in a wheelchair, but there was a Grandma with her children who started complaining immediately and went on for a while. It was annoying. Tammy stood by her brother at first, while Randy was holding Emmy, so he could see, but I soon put her on my shoulders, so she could see well. Sammy didn't care about the show and soon got cranky. I finally pulled him back to where we were, and we tried to keep him happy, but didn't get far. He wanted to be with me, so I put Tammy down and took Sammy and started walking around with him. He touched the big rotating egg, then I let him look at the many decorated normal-sized eggs. I finally got him to cheer up, for a short time.

Then the show was over. I knew from the program that there was a time for crafts after, so we waited for them to set up the equipment for that. While we were waiting, the lady playing "Kasperl" came down to have Kasperl talk to children, and she also came to our three kids. Both Tammy and Emmy gave Kasperl a kiss.

It was so cold that they were all freezing. They had a stand selling hot chocolate there, and so we bought a cup that we all shared. By then everything was sat up, so Tammy and Emmy sat down to paint an Easter egg each. They had four different colors of pain, but they mixed it all together so that the eggs were basically black in the end. However, they were both proud of their eggs. I carried them for them, and off we went to go back home.

They were so cold that they were eager to get to the subway. Just before 11:30 we were back home. They went downstairs to play, while I started making lunch. I was done by noon, and so they came back upstairs to eat. After lunch, they started watching videos (Emmy), playing games (Tammy) and listening to children's songs (Sammy).  By 1:15 pm I had them in bed for their nap, while Randy had already left on a grocery run. With some effort Sammy finally calmed down and fell asleep, while Emmy had not needed any help. Tammy always needs the longest, but usually I can walk away before she's asleep. I did so today as well, but she was still calling for me a few times after.

I got distracted, which kept me from lying down, even though I was very tired, and once I did, Sammy was up before I had even fallen asleep. Randy had returned, but was putting groceries away, so I finally got up and put Sammy on the floor so he could crawl to Randy. He had wanted Daddy to buy a certain candy and kept asking whether he had bought it. I lay back down, but moments later Randy dropped Sammy on me, as he was keeping Randy from putting the groceries away.

I was having a good time with Sammy, when Emmy walked into the room. I had started a video for Sammy that he likes, and Emmy joined us, watching those children's songs as well. It took some time before Randy came to get the boys, give them a snack and take them downstairs. Then I could finally close my eyes and fall asleep. But time was pretty short until my alarm woke me at 3:45 pm. I had to get up and get ready for my 4 pm class. I then taught until 6 pm. Only minutes later Randy and the kids came upstairs. Randy told me how Sammy had gone potty and filled the potty up, and I praised him for that accomplishment. He was lying on the floor with his new guitar full of buttons, and I turned the children's songs on for him. When I came by a few minutes later, I couldn't believe my eyes, when I saw him sitting upright. He had sat up all by himself! He's done it before, but it's still great to see him do it. I have yet to capture it with my camera.

Emmy was watching Firefighter Sam again, while Tammy was playing with the table, and I was getting their dinner ready. They soon sat down at the table and started eating, what I was putting in front of them. Then they went into the bathtub, where they continued eating. We got them out and ready for bed, and I sat down with them to read them a few Bible stories. Then I prayed for them and flew them into bed. It was only about 8 pm. I sat down by them, and all three were pretty active. Within minutes Sammy started asking for Daddy to sit down instead of me. When Randy had finished eating, he took my place - much to Tammy's dismay. I got myself something to eat, and after having eaten, I went back to working on the computer. Now it's going on 12:30, and I'll probably work some more before cleaning up the kitchen and going to bed.
