HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1438. Today I had an alarm set for 8:40, but the kids were up just before that. We got up and went upstairs to have breakfast. At 9 am another friend stopped by to see us that we couldn't have seen otherwise. She hung out with us for 40 minutes, and we had a good time talking, then she had to leave. I then went downstairs, as I had a student from 10 to 11 am. Randy and the kids stayed upstairs to play, and they were actually doing playdoh with the kids of the house and were having fun. As for me, I continued working after teaching, doing much-needed office work. When 1 pm was approaching, it was lunch time, so I joined everyone upstairs to eat. After lunch I let them play some more. At 2 pm I put them to bed for their nap.
However, they were having a hard time falling asleep, and I was eager to leave to get ready for my 2:30 student. I left at 2:15, with everyone still awake, which was a disaster, as Randy can't get them to sleep. At 3 pm I heard Randy shout and kids cry and interrupted my lesson to check on them and encourage them to sleep. When I was done at 3:30 and went downstairs, I found Tammy and Emmy asleep, but not Sammy. Randy told me that he had never slept yet. I lay down by him to try to get him to sleep, but that point had passed. There was no more sleeping for Sammy. Instead he was eager to play with his new duck. The family had a talking and singing and moving duck that he loved so much that they bought him his own, and he had just received it.
At 3:45 I already had to wake the other kids up, as we had to get ready to leave the house and visit more friends. As usual, when you wake up Tammy, she was crying and screaming and didn't want to change or leave. We still left the house after 4 pm to drive the half hour to our friends' house.
We got there at 4:40 pm; it was great to see that precious couple I've known for so many years, and many times I'd stayed at their house when coming to town. We had a wonderful two hours together. They had a few toys that the kids played with and even had playdoh that Tammy was excited about. Later Emmy also joined her to play with it. Sammy was also having a good time. Randy walked with him for a while, and I've got a video of him putting everything into a basket. Before we left, they prayed for us, which was really precious. Then we said our good-byes and left.
It was 6:30 pm and dinner time. We decided to go to Wendy's in Lee's Summit and ate good food for less money than usual. It was really cute, when Tammy and Emmy both drank out of the same cup with their straws. I was surprised that Tammy actually ate the chicken nuggets, as she has refused to eat nuggets at any other restaurant. I guess Wendy's are best. They also enjoyed the cat and dog and animal clips playing on the screen.
After we left the restaurant, we did not drive home but went to the clothes store up the road right there. It had been on my to-do list, and it was the only chance to get it done. We got there at 8 pm, so it was already pretty late. I was gonna do this as quickly as possible, as I don't like shopping anyway. And I had some little helpers. I needed new jeans and put the ones I picked into the baskets that Tammy and Emmy had. We then went to the changing room together, where I tried it all on. I think it was 3 times that I went into the changing rooms, and I got a few pairs of jeans and two dresses. I needed shirts too, but I didn't find any. It was getting late, and I'd had enough, so we went to pay. Our card had expired, so we ended up getting a new one and 35% off of everything, which made a huge difference. What a blessing!
Sammy had also wanted to have a basket on wheels and enjoyed pulling or pushing it. In the end I put the bag of clothes into his basket. It was 9:15 pm, when we left, and it was already dark. The kids have been going to bed late most nights. By 9:35 we were back at the house. Even though it was late, we took them to the bathtub to shower tonight, as we had skipped that twice already, then got them ready for bed. It was after 10 pm before they were all in bed, and I encouraged them to fall asleep quickly, which they didn't all do. I left them anyway and turned my computer on to work. Now it's nearly 1:30 am and time to go to bed.
