HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 1439. Once again it was Sammy who was up first and was up relatively early. I gave him his tablet with songs to keep him occupied for a while. Eventually everyone got up, and Randy and the kids went upstairs to have breakfast. I preferred to stay in bed instead. Then we got everyone ready and left the house just before 10:30 am.
We drove half an hour to Raytown, where we were meeting with good friends at Denny's for an early lunch. When we got out of the car, there were lots of white flowers on the lawn, and Tammy immediately started picking them and gave them to me, and Emmy ended up doing the same thing. Then we went inside. It was great to see my friends again, and we had a good time reconnecting and talking with each other. I took the kids' tablets inside with me to keep them occupied so we could talk. It took a really long time for the food to come out, and especially Sammy kept asking for food. It simply took too long. It finally came, and there was plenty for Sammy to eat. Everyone had their food, then went back to playing on the tablet. Sammy got to go be with our friend and had fun with him, and so did Emmy at one time.
After two hours it was time for good-byes, and we had someone take a group picture of us. Then we made our way back home for their nap. It was 1:45, when we got to the house, and I put them to bed right away. Sammy had already been close to falling asleep in the car. Still, it took quite some effort to get especially Emmy to sleep. He ended up joining me in my bed after the other two were already asleep, and there he finally fell asleep as well, together with me.
Sammy was again the first one up, and before my alarm went off at 3:45 pm. Then we all got up and got ready to leave the house. Our host family was also getting ready to go on a trip, so we already had to say our good-byes. Sammy held the Mom tight, as he hugged her.
Just after 4 pm we drove off and got to the kids' hairdresser at 4:30 pm. Our hosts had recommended that place. The boys needed a haircut really bad, and on their website I had seen that they pierce ears. When the babies were born, I took my earrings out, as they were pulling on them, and the holes had grown shut. I was hoping to get them pierced and get Tammy's done as well. Unfortunately they said they couldn't do it. But they did take the boys without an appointment. In fact, there was nobody there, when we got there, but it didn't take long to fill up. Sammy went into a car to be worked on, while Emmy got into the firetruck. This was their third haircut ever, and Sammy did better than ever. Randy and I were right there with him, which he needed, as he didn't like it much. Once they were all done, I wasn't so sure if I liked it as their hair was shorter than ever. By now I've already gotten used to it. The kids were enjoying checking out all the toys they had there for sale, while we were taking care of paying for their haircuts.
We were done pretty quickly and still had some time until our next appointment. The kids had seen a playground just before getting there, and so we decided to go there for a little bit before moving on. It was actually a really hot day again, the effects of the rain having worn off, and the half-hour we had there was just about how long we could take being out in the heat. The kids were eager to go climb and slide, but got scared trying to make it up the net to the slide starting on top and had to come back down. I saw a swing for parents and babies I had never seen before but thought was really cool, so I went there with Sammy. I put Sammy in, then took the other seat to swing, making us bith swing together, with our faces right in front of each, which was really cool. Then it was time to get back into the car and go on.
Just before 6 pm we reached the restaurant where were meeting with another friend. It was a Mexican restaurant. We ordered and started talking, having a great time of catching up. I had taken the kids' tablets inside to keep them occupied, but didn't give them to them right away. The food again took some time to come out, but this time they had nachos to munch on. Once the food came, I distributed it, and so it took a while before I myself got to start eating. Sammy was getting a little restless and started playing with water, the cup of water and their bottle, and even pouring the water over his own head, making himself laugh. He enjoyed it. When we were leaving, the floor was so wet that the employee put a "wet floor" sign up right there, which we thought was really funny, so we took a picture of it. Then we got someone to take a picture of all of us again. We'd had a great time together, but it was time to say good-bye once again.
It was 8 pm, as we drove off. We stopped at the grocery store right there and got some icecream that we ate after we got home a few minutes later. Then we did a little bit of packing, while they were playing, before it was time for their shower and getting them ready for bed. It was 10 pm once again, when we put them to bed, so really late. I stayed with them for a little bit and sang, which is what Sammy asks me to do every time, then I got up to turn my computer on. It was 10:15 pm. I started working on the pictures, and then on this report. Now it's after 1 am and time for bed. In the morning we have to finish packing and leave to move on to the next city.
