HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Last night it was after midnight before I made it to bed. This morning Sammy already started crying at 6 am, and continued crying. At 6:45 I picked him up, but of course, he's one who does not sleep on you. Randy left at 7 pm to take his Corona test sample to the store, which did not take long. When I picked up Sammy, Emmy was immediately on his feet, and now it was him crying instead of his brother who was happily playing with me in our bed. It was a short night tonight! I finally got up and got Emmy out of bed, and now it was Tammy who was on her feet, complaining that I picked up Emmy. That's how it goes with triplets. So I got her out of her bed too and started making their breakfast. The night was over, even though it was still early. And so it was early, when I took them downstairs, where we played until Randy came to take my place.
I went upstairs to first clean up and then work. I was so tired I was seriously contemplating taking a nap instead of working, but the work needs to be done, so I went to work. At 9 am the Mobile Therapy support lady arrived to play with the kids for 90 minutes. By 10:30 I was so very tired, I decided to stop working and lay down and closed my eyes. I never fell asleep, but got close. It was still hard when my alarm rang at 11, so that I could get up and make lunch for everyone.
At 11:30 I called everyone upstairs to eat - chicken with rice and vegetables. Tammy and Emmy ate everything on their plates, but Sammy did not. And then they had watermelon, banana and yoghurt. The boys went to bed, and Randy went downstairs with Tammy. I thought they'd sleep faster today, since they had gotten up so early, but that was not the case. I had to sit down with Emmy for him to go to sleep instead of playing. He finally fell asleep, and so Tammy could go to bed as well, and she fell asleep after a little bit of whining.
I cleaned up and went back to work. Then I picked out their clothes, as we needed to leave the house at 2:40 to go to the pediatrician's. I also packed snacks as there was not gonna be an afternoon meal at home. Emmy woke up first, as always, after about an hour, and would not go back to sleep. Randy took him downstairs. Sammy and Tammy both slept about two hours. We dressed them all and left the house on time.
We took two subways and got to the pediatrician's in time. My Mom was waiting there for us. We registered and sat down in the waiting room, where they had lots of fun. Tammy climbed on top of the little table, and Emmy tried that too. Randy was holding Sammy, and had him stand on the couch as well.
It wasn't long before we were called in. They have several doctors there, and today we had the nice one again that we had last time. We undressed them all, and then the doctor examined them. I was holding Emmy who was the most frantic, even though we've played with all the doctor's tools at home. He was clinging to me and crying, while the doctor listened to his lungs, looked into his ears and mouth. And then he gave him two shots, one in each thigh. He was crying hard.
Next it was Tammy's turn, who was with Grandma. I was really impressed, when she did not cry while being examined. Who would have thought! She did not like it, when he looked into her mouth, and then really cried, when she got her shots. Emmy cried with her in solidarity, and I held them both.
Then it was Sammy's turn. He also did not cry during the examination, but cried hard when getting the shots.
Then we dressed them again and left. It did not take long before they were their happy selves again. They were also weighed and measured today. Tammy is now 84.5 cm tall, Emmy 81.5 and Sammy 76. Tammy weighed 10.9, Emmy 9.9, and Sammy 8 kilos.
We had to say good-bye to Grandma again and started walking back to the subway station. Emmy was not happy in the stroller. On the way we stopped at a grocery store, as I needed a few things, and I decided to take a cranky Emmy inside with me. That was his very first time in a grocery store! I put him in the grocery cart, and off we went. We had already been through some aisles, when I suddenly realized I had not put my mask on! And nobody had said anything! I quickly left the store and went back to the strollers to get my mask.
Emmy acted like he'd been doing this all his life. When I picked up an item to put it into the cart, he took the item out of my hands and turned around to put it into the cart. I also had to be careful to not be too close to a shelf so he would not grab stuff. We had lots of fun in the store, but the others were waiting for us. We checked out, rejoined the others, and of course, he did not want to go back into the stroller, not even standing up, so I ended up carrying him, while pushing the stroller with Sammy.
In the subway, Emmy was sitting on my lap or next to me. But he was getting pretty cranky again, even with me, so I decided to put him into the stroller again. He was crying hard and trying to get out. He drew everyone's attention to himself. I finally gave in and got him back out. This time he was quiet. We got off the train, and I decided to put him on my shoulders for the walk to our house. Randy decided to take the stroller with Sammy and push both strollers, so I just had Emmy to carry. He was happy on my shoulders.
We arrived home at 6 pm. Normally they eat at 5:30, so it was about an hour later than usual, as it takes me half an hour to make their food. I mmediately went to work getting their food ready, while they were running around and having fun. Emmy wanted me to pick him up a few times, which I could not do. Randy picked up our package from the neighbor who had taken it for us while we were gone, and that occupied the kids, opening it and examining the content, and as most was for them, playing with it. It included new suction cup animals to put on the wall while they're in the bathtub. After eating, they got to play with them in the water, and they were very busy with them. A few times Emmy and Tammy were fighing over one or the other. All three finished their food in the bathtub. Then Emmy started crying, which he does, when he poops into the water, and that's what he had done. I calmed him down, and Randy got him out. It wasn't that much, so Tammy and Sammy still finished their drink, and then they came out as well.
I put them all to bed and walked away. I had to come back for Tammy who had thrown her rabbits out, and once she had them back, she lay down to sleep.
I started making my food. It was later than usual, and it was the day I had to cut all my salad, so it was pretty late before I was done eating, and then I had so many pictures to go through. So no midnight bedtime tonight. It's nearly midnight now, and I still have to clean up, which takes me about an hour.
