20 months 10 days

Last night it was 12:20 am before I made it to bed. This morning we got up just before 8 am because someone was crying, though they had been crying or whining for a while. Emmy had once again taken his pj off, of course, or rather slipped out of it. He's our escape artist.

After breakfast I cleaned them up, dressed them and took them downstairs. Emmy always wants to take the chairs into the play area, so we did, and they played with them. Emmy also took a box inside and was frustrated, when he couldn't open it.

I put Sammy into the swing, and immediately the others wanted to swing too. I put Tammy in, and she wanted her baby doll to swing as well. After a while she wanted out, and Emmy took her place, but he didn't stay long either because he was annoyed by his brother trying to turn around and he actually grabbed his ear once.

It takes Randy up to half an hour before he comes with his breakfast, and then I was able to grab my computer and go upstairs with it to work, but first I had to clean up the dining room and kitchen. And so it was about 9:30 before I was able to start working.

At about 11 am I stopped to make lunch for us, and half an hour later they came upstairs to eat. Tammy and Emmy ate everything on their plates, plus yoghurt and fruit. It was lentil stew, so pretty messy, especially Tammy who can handle a spoon the best, but a lot still slides off. And she does not like it, when I clean her up. Today I put her in the bathtub, and she was crying as always. After they were clean and dressed, I let them run around until Sammy was ready to go to bed, then I put Emmy to bed too, and Randy went downstairs with Tammy. At first Emmy was playing again, but he was tired, and did not need much encouragement to fall asleep. Once he was asleep, I put Tammy to bed.

And then we had a short time where all three were sleeping. It takes Tammy a while to fall asleep, and Emmy wakes up after just an hour or so usually, so it's only a short time. When Emmy woke up, his brother woke up as well, and Randy went downstairs with them. I continued working, and Tammy usually sleeps around 2 hours, so she got up just after 2:30 pm.

I called the boys upstairs, and we sat down for the afternoon meal. Besides the yoghurt with fruit jar, Tammy had her watermelon, and Emmy had banana, and I also brought out the bread and peanut butter. Tammy couldn't get enough of it, while Emmy wanted nothing of it. Sammy also had a few bites and liked it.

After cleaning them up and dressing them, I took Emmy and Tammy downstairs and played with them until Randy arrived with Sammy. Then I went back upstairs to work for another half hour, until 4 pm. At 4 pm I went downstairs to relieve Randy and give him a break until 5, while it was Mommy time for the little ones. And we had an hour full of fun activities and just fun.

Sammy has noticably been making progress, in terms of how well he's sitting up, and he's crawling really fast. Today he picked up a block and tried to put it through a matching hole. And he loves standing and is standing as much as possible.

Emmy had already brought the chairs inside, and I decided it was time to sit down for a drawing session again, the last one having been a long time ago. So I also put up the table, and we all sat around it. I had Sammy who was standing, and at the end he also sat on a chair for a little while (I had to hold him). Emmy did the most drawing, while Tammy was more interested in putting the crayons into her mouth, and so was Emmy. Still, they are progressing.

There was also swing time, and time to swing the boys around. And reading time - the new sound books (construction site and vehicles), as well as a big picture book where a lot is going on. You can really sit in front of it and look at it for a long time. Whenever I ask them where the cat or something else is, they point at it right away. There were some zoo pages, and I told them we'd be going to the zoo tomorrow morning. I don't think they really understood that.

At 5 pm Randy took my place, and I left to make their dinner. Half an hour later they came upstairs to eat. They ate some at the table, and the rest in the bathtub. All three finished their food there.

And then Emmy said "kaka" (poop) and looked at me distressed, while he pooped. Then he fled into my arms. I told him it was okay. I don't know why he does that so often, and always ever him. Randy got Emmy out of the water, while I finished with Tammy and Sammy who were still drinking their cereal with milk. Then they came out as well, and a little while later I put them to bed. Tonight I did not have to stay, and they fell asleep by themselves. I only returned one time for Sammy, and the other two were already sleeping at that point.

I made my food, ate it, and then went to work. Today I have yet to clean up, but I'm hopeful I'll make it to bed by midnight. But no work possible in the morning, as we'll be at the zoo.
