HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Last night I had so much work, it was after 4 am before I made it to bed. So it was an even shorter night than usual, when we got up at 8 am to feed them. After cleaning them up and dressing them, I took them downstairs, where I waited for Randy to come and stay. Then I went back to bed.
My alarm woke me at 11:15, and I put the baby food jars into the warmer and went back to bed. I was woken up again a few minutes later, when Sonja arrived. A few minutes later they came upstairs to eat. Once again they did a great job using their baby spoons and feeding themselves. And they had watermelon and yoghurt as dessert.
Then I picked up Emmy first to clean him up. I took his diaper off and wanted to sit him into the sink to wash him off. He was crying and did NOT want to sit in the sink. I don't know what the issue was. The girl reacted the same way a few minutes later. I got them all clean, put new diapers on, and their clothes. I put Emmy to bed first, while Sonja took Tammy downstairs. Randy put Sammy to bed, after I had cleaned him up and he had dressed him.
While I was waiting for Emmy to fall asleep, I made our own food and started eating. At first Emmy was pretty active, but after a few minutes it got quiet, and so I went to get Tammy and put her to bed. It was the same story with her; after a few minutes of activity she fell asleep. It's really nice to have all three sleep at the same time. And today nobody woke up after only one hour, but they slept about two hours.
But then they woke up one after another. It was nearly 2:30, and today we were not gonna forget to feed them their afternoon meal. We all sat down at the dining room table and fed them their jars, plus banana and watermelon. After cleaning them up and dressing them, I grabbed some pants for the boys, and we took them downstairs, where we put them on. Then I opened the door to the outside, as they've been wanting to go outside. It was the last warm and sunny day today, so we took advantage of it.
We have really nice neighbors who have two boys that are a little older than ours. They told me that we could use their sandbox toys that they have in a box outside their apartemtn. That was really nice of them, and Emmy and Tammy REALLY enjoyed having those toys. They were so concentrated playing in the sandbox with them. It really kept them busy for a while. Sammy in the meantime was in his chair. I put his tray on, so he could have his toys on there, without them dropping on the floor.
While they were busy in the sandbox, I saw an opportunity to get work done and started working on the newsletter. The door to the outside was open, and as time went on, they came inside more and more often. Emmy was pretty cranky this afternoon, and came to me to be comforted. Tammy also came to me from time to time. At some point I finally abandoned my work and went outside again. Tammy sat on the tricycle, and I tried to put Emmy on the back, and then we went up and down a few times. Then they switched places. I also had Emmy on my shoulders, and ran up and down with him, as well as jumping up and down, which he loves most. When Sammy had had enough of his chair, Sonja got him out and was throwing him around, making him laugh. She also took over from me, having Emmy on the tricycle, and Sammy on her arm, going up and down with them. I tell you, it's hard work and great exercise!
As they were going inside more and more, we finally decided to all go back in. The swing is still very popular, and Emmy wanted to be in it. Daddy had been upstairs taking a break, but he then came downstairs, and a few minutes later it was already time for me to go upstairs and make their dinner.
At 5:30 they came upstairs to eat, and from then on it was a typical night. Eat at the table, then the rest in the bathtub, then pj's on and to bed. The only thing out of the ordinary was that Emmy didn't poop into the water tonight! 😄 After some activity, the boys fell asleep. Sammy was completely turned around by that time, but it doesn't matter. The girl was still fussing, and when I finally checked on her, she had taken her pj's off again. I picked her up, changed her dirty diaper, put her pj's back on, and found a thin sleeping bag to put her in, then put her back to bed, and then it didn't take long for her to fall asleep.
And then I was finally able to talk to Paul on the phone. We'd been very unsuccessful in connecting recently, either not reaching each other, or having such a bad connection we couldn't talk. I'm glad we finally did, and it helped me finish my newsletter tonight as well. After talking to him, I got my food, ate, and then I went to work finishing the newsletter. The German and French translation will have to wait for tonight. Now it's 2:30, and I'm getting pretty tired. Maybe I'll make it to bed before 4 am for once.
