HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 2 of sleeping at night and not during the day, but I didn't get office work done, and I'm pretty tired. This change is only gonna work if I can do the work I used to do at night during the day.
I went to bed just after midnight last and was pretty tired, so I fell asleep faster than the day before. This morning it was 8:30, when we woke up. We got up, and I made their breakfast. This is the second day in a row Emmy had his pj's off, even though they button down in the back. He's an escape artist!
After having cleaned them and dressed them, I took them downstairs and was playing with them, until Randy was ready to come down and stay with them. I went upstairs to work. It was later than usual, and then my computer did a big updated, so I never got to work. I kept waiting for it to be done, and then it was already 10:30 and friends arrived for a visit.
We hadn't seen them since last summer, so it was really nice to see my long-time friend again who came with her three girls who immediately started playing with our three. She also came bearing lots of gifts, from clothes to toys to books. For over an hour we had a wonderful time. The kids loved playing with them, and her girls loved playing with the triplets. At 11:30 Sonja arrived and joined us. It was already 11:45 before we went upstairs for lunch. One of the girls was even feeding Emmy, before they left to go home.
Today was baby food jar day, and I added some of the leftover meat from yesterday, and they ate it all. We cleaned them up and dressed them, and Sonja went downstairs with Tammy, while I put the boys to bed. I needed to stay with Emmy and stroke his head until he fell asleep, which was pretty fast. It was already 12:30. Then I went to get Tammy and put her to bed, and she also fell asleep fast.
It was omelet day, so Randy made omelets for the three of us. After eating, I took a few minutes to work, but was getting pretty tired. Emmy woke up after 90 minutes, and I lay down with him. He rested on my chest for a while but never fell asleep. It just made me more sleepy. Randy then took him downstairs to Sonja. Sammy actually slept 2 hours today, which is long for him, and then I picked him up and he went downstairs as well. I lay back down and rested, until the girl woke up a few minutes later. I picked her up, and the others came back upstairs for the afternoon meal.
It was a sunny, beautiful day, not so cold either, so we decided to go to the nice playground we've only been to once before. After eating, we dressed them, and by 3:30 we were out the door. We walked to the tram stop, and rode the tram to the playground.
And they enjoyed it again - the swing, the slide, the moving spring, and the climbing nets. Tammy and Emmy were throwing sand on the slide at one point. And Emmy was going down the slide on his belly feet first a few times, because I pulled him up to the top that way. They were very interested in the other kids, always watching them, and sometimes you worry they'd try to do what the big kids were doing.
At 4:30 we decided it was time to go back home. Emmy did not want to go into the stroller. Always sitting on the bottom, he really can't see anything there, so I put him in standing up, and he loved it. He rode all the way home that way and enjoyed looking at everything around him.
It was 5 pm when I started making their food, while they were downstairs playing. Half an hour later they all came upstairs to eat dinner. And they all cleaned their plates again, finishing them off in the bathtub. Our friends gave them some ducks with suction cups, and so they had lots of fun in the bathtub, sticking them to the wall. Even Emmy enjoyed the bathtub again; he hasn't been for the last 10 days or so.
They all came out at once, and each one of us got one kid ready to bed, and then I put them to bed in their typical order, with a prayer. I walked away right away, and there was no crying. But Sammy was very much awake and I could hear him. When I checked on them, he was having fun with his brother through the bars, as their beds touch each other. I put Sammy into his sleeping position and walked away. Soon the boys were asleep, but Tammy got more and more upset the more tired she became. I returned to give her her rabbit back that she had thrown out, stroked her head a little bit, and walked away again, and that was enough for her to go to sleep.
I made my food and ate in bed, with my computer on, and then started working there as well. It's definitely more comfortable working from bed than the office. I used to do that every day while I was pregnant, but haven't since moving here. Now it's just after 10 pm, and I have yet to clean up, which takes me an hour. So we'll see how much office work I can still get done after that. I give the kids their bottles of milk just before midnight, or earlier if they start crying, and then I intend to go to bed at midnight again.
