HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Today was just a regular day at home for the Wilson Five. It was just us, and we didn't leave the house. And as It's now 2:30 am, it seems so far removed already. I also only have these 3 pictures today.
This morning I got up at 7:45 because Emmy was crying so hard. He was standing in his bed, having taken off his pj's, but not his diaper. I picked him up and lay back down with him, but he wasn't gonna sleep any more. He greatly enjoyed being in our bed and was smiling all over his face. His sister was a little jealous. After a few minutes I got up to get their food ready, and let Emmy run around. It didn't take long before he took his diaper off and started running around naked, which was also pretty cute.
After having eaten, while Randy was finishing up with Sammy and getting his stuff ready to take downstairs, Tammy grabbed two shopping bags and carried them around. It was so cute. It looked like she was going shopping.
I put a chicken in the oven and went back to bed. At 11 I got up to start cooking, though I was so tired I really wanted to stay in bed. It was just after 11:30 the food was ready for them to come upstairs and eat. It was chicken, potatoes, and vegetables. I also mixed a baby food jar under the vegetables to make them stick together and easier to eat. They ate really well and liked it all. As for Sammy, this is the first of three days that I have to write down everything he eats to send to the dietitian who will tell us what to do so he gains more weight.
Nap time has not been working at all recently. I guess they're just not tired enough. The boys were in bed, and Tammy downstairs with Randy. Even Sammy was not sleeping. After a while Randy came upstairs with Tammy, and I put her to bed. Now they were all up and partying. Sammy fell asleep first. Emmy wanted me to stay and stroke his head. I came and left a few times and sat down to stay, until he was asleep. I walked away, and Tammy fell asleep after a while as well. It was already rather late.
By the way, the third picture shows what I found one time, when I went to them to encourage them to sleep. Tammy's sheet was too big, and she slipped under and stood up. We changed the sheet then.
Emmy woke up after a while, having slept rather short. His crying woke me up, and I picked him up and lay down with him. We both fell asleep again. When we woke back up, Randy was already feeding Sammy. I went to get Emmy's food, and then the girl woke up too. And so it was nearly 4 pm before we sat down at the dining room table for their afternoon meal, which is usually at 2:30 pm.
We went downstairs to play, while Randy stayed upstairs, and we had the best time. We read a lot of books, and watched a short video, and had lots of fun just playing. Time went by fast, and so it was after 5 pm, before I went upstairs to get their food ready.
And therefore it was also about 5:40 before they came upstairs to eat. I had decided to actually finish all their food, so that I can sit down right away with them and keep them from throwing food, rather than them eating without me there. I had read that you can give kids a place to put what they don't like, which keeps them from throwing their food, and tonight there was no throwing. They either handed me what they didn't want, or put it on the table, where I told them to.
We took the remaining food to the bathtub, where they finished eating most of it, as did Sammy. Sammy comes out first, and then I brush Emmy's and Tammy's teeth, while they are still in the bathtub. Tammy refused to brush her teeth, so I took Emmy out and told her she'd come out of the water once her teeth are brushed. A while later she reluctantly let me brush her teeth.
I then put them all to bed. Emmy was rather tired, and not as active as usual. I sat down with them right away, and that helped keeping him down. It was Sammy who was wide awake and kept moving around in his bed. Once Emmy was nearly asleep, while the other two were still rather active, I walked away, and I never had to come back.
I made my food, ate, and started working on the computer. I started cleaning up after midnight, and ended up sorting through clothes, until I made myself stop so I could return to office work. I wished I had more hours to work in a day.
