HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Once again it was approaching 4 am, when I went to bed last night. This morning I already woke up just after 7 am, because I heard them talking. We stayed in bed anyway and got up at 8 as usual. After breakfast, Randy went downstairs with them and I went back to bed.
I was rudely awakened not long after having fallen asleep, when Randy dropped a crying and bloody Emmy on me. It was just after 10 am. He told me that Emmy had tripped and fallen, and it looked like he'd busted his lip. I wiped the blood away and comforted him, and then he ended up falling asleep on my chest and slept for nearly 90 minutes, his whole morning nap, on me. I knew they'd be tired earlier today, having gotten up so early. Sammy was sleeping in his bed at the same time. After Emmy woke up, I put their food into the warmer, and then Sonja arrived, and Sammy woke up, and Randy came upstairs with Tammy for lunch.
We fed them, and then Sonja went downstairs with Emmy, while I put Tammy to bed, and Randy finished up with Sammy, who then joined his brother downstairs. Randy was making his weekly omelets for the three of us. Still tired, I enjoyed having a break, lying in bed eating. And I was surprised to neither hear Emmy nor Sammy cry the whole time. They were having fun with Sonja downstairs.
Tammy woke up just before 2:30, which is their meal time, and so the others came upstairs and we sat down at the dining room table to eat. Emmy did not want to sit in his chair; he was probably tired, so he sat in my lap. I brought out some banana and watermelon as well, which they enjoy eating. I have now canceled the automatic monthly order for the different cereal with fruit as they don't care much for it any more. We'll just have to finish up what we have.
Sonja went downstairs with Tammy, while we put the boys to bed. I cleaned everything up and went downstairs as well to play with Tammy. We had lots of fun. They are all really cute right now.
Then Randy came to drill the holes so we could finally hang up the swing. I had to hold Tammy the whole time, as she wasn't so sure about the loud drill, drilling into concrete. We were sitting on the couch. Then Sammy woke up and joined us. Him and Sonja have a special relationship; he just loves being with her, which cannot be said about any other person than Randy and I.
When Emmy woke up, I went upstairs, and Randy sent us all upstairs. I was holding a sleepy Emmy, who was also cranky, and wanted to be entertained. I put him on my shoulders and hopped up and down the room with him, while he was laughing out loud. Until I stopped.
The doorbell rang, and it turned out that our neighbors' mother did just to get into the building. With Tammy and Emmy cranky, it was a welcome interruption. I opened our apartment door and let them go outside into the hallway. Tammy took off running, and I had to run after her to get her back. Then I rang the neighbors' doorbell, as she had some stuff for the kids she wanted to give them that she didn't need any more. Their children were also right by the door, and it was cute to see all their interaction. We hadn't seen them in a while, so it was nice to see them again.
We returned to the apartment, and I started making dinner for them. I immediately gave them some fruit and bread, and that took the edge off of them. I guess they were hungry. After a while Randy came upstairs as well, as he had finished, and then we sat down to feed them dinner. Tammy ate a lot at the table, and they all finished their food in the bathtub, followed by the leftover cereal from the morning. Randy left to go to the grocery store, and Sonja and I got them out of the bathtub, put their pj's on, and I put them to bed. Sammy started crying again, and I had to hold him. Tammy was tired, but needed me to be there. And when Emmy has had two naps during the day, he's wide awake at night and has a hard time falling asleep. As for Sammy, when I put the dental cream on his gums, I discovered that his first molar had broken through. No wonder he's been crying for the past few nights! Thankfully he was fine and fell asleep, when I put him to bed, so I only had to hold him one time.
The rest of the evening was same old same old, cooking, eating, office work and cleanup. And hanging up the swing. Now I can't wait to see their reaction tomorrow! I guess I can't go straight to bed after breakfast.
