HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
This is Day 576 of the triplets' life after birth, and life with the triplets. After a short night I got up a few minutes later than usual to make their breakfast and feed them. After cleaning them up and dressing them, I was holding Sammy until Randy had taken the others downstairs, plus his breakfast, and came to pick up Sammy last. Then it was my time to go back to bed.
My alarm woke me at 11:15 to put the leftover lentil soup on the stove to warm up. A few minutes later Sonja - our wonderful helper and friend - arrived. She went downstairs to the kids, and it wasn't long after that that the soup was warm and ready to be served, so they all came upstairs. Today Sammy stayed up until lunch; we're trying to switch him to one nap per day as well. I fed Emmy, while Sonja fed Tammy, and they did a good job using their spoons. We helped them get them to their mouths without losing too much food in the process. Then they got yoghurt and watermelon as dessert.
Emmy went to bed first, and it didn't take him long to fall asleep. However, Tammy had to go downstairs with Sonja until he did, so he would. Sammy went to bed next, and a few minutes later I went to get Tammy and put her to bed. However, she took her sleeping bag off, threw her rabbit out, and got up and was talking away. So I had to put her back down and help her fall asleep, and after a while she did. All three were asleep at the same time! That's still so rare!
I started cleaning up. Emmy woke up again after a while, but fell back asleep by himself. It was Sammy who woke up first, and his crying woke Emmy up. I picked up Emmy, and Randy Sammy, and thankfully Tammy slept a little longer, though not as long as usual. By 2 pm they were all back downstairs to play. Just before 2:30 they came upstairs to have their afternoon meal.
They are not that interested in the baby jars any more, and so it's not 3 jars any more that they eat, but maybe 2, if we're lucky. Plus fruit and cookies. Then they all went back downstairs to play. As for me, I had to leave before they were even done eating, and it was Emmy again who was crying, when I was walking away. I left the house at 2:45, as I had a scheduled Corona test at a pharmacy at 3:15. There's lots of places where you can take a free Corona test that gives you a result within half an hour. You just have to register in advance. And because the Corona numbers in Vienna are higher than ever, we now have to get a test every single time before we go to the hospital with Sammy for his physiotherapy. Pretty annoying! I had to take the subway for one stop and the bus for 3. There was only one person in line in front of me, so it went really fast. 40 minutes after I had left I was back home, and joined the kids downstairs to play.
And we had lots of fun. I have so many great pictures of Sammy today, smiling and laughing. He likes action, like his brother, swinging and being thrown around. He also got to move back and forth on the ball today. Emmy also needed lots of throwing around, as cranky as he was. I showed him how to slide down the slide on his belly. Randy showed Emmy how to use a saw (his toy saw). And all three were swinging for a while. And of course Tammy wanted books read to her. And she wanted to watch a video on my phone. Yesterday we had watched a video about vehicles, so today I showed a short video of lions. When I turn the phone off after a few minutes, she throws a fit.
I left before 5 pm to go get their dinner ready. And tonight I got most of if done, before they came upstairs to eat. Tammy came to me in the kitchen to get bread, but I had to tell her that her plate was already on her table, which she didn't quite seem to get. When we read books and I ask her where the dog is (for example), she points right at it. She's really good with that!
They were eating well at the table, until they quit, and I took the remaining food to the bathtub. They continued eating in there. The cleaning lady had been here today and cleaned the bathtub, and it was so slippery, that Emmy slipped three times within a short time and went under water. He cried every time but got over it fast each time. Then everything came to an abrupt halt, when Emmy pooped into the water. It's only ever him who does that! We quickly got them all out at the same time, and I dressed Sammy on our bed, while Randy and Sonja dressed the other two on their changing table. They didn't get to eat the last few bites of their food, but they brushed their teeth while getting dressed.
I put them to bed, and moved Emmy's bed away from his brother's bed a little, so he'd not wake his brother up who was pretty tired. However, I heard all three have fun again, after walking away. Until I heard Sammy cry hard. I quickly went to see what was going on. There are a few bars missing in the middle of his bed, which is why Emmy's bed is sitting right next to his. Having moved it away, his head had ended up in the opening, and he must have been stuck. I picked him up and comforted him and moved the bed back in place. Tammy was already asleep, and I put Sammy back to bed. Emmy having no sleeping bag, he had opened his pj's and his legs were completely out of it. Taking his diaper off was probably next. I put his pj's back on and got a sleeping bag that has a zipper on the side, ending under his arm pit. I don't think he'll be able to open that. After putting him back to bed, it didn't take him long to fall asleep.
Tonight I did the clean up first, rather than later, and then prepared my food to eat. After eating while watching a video, I went back to work, to office work. It's midnight, so I still have some time to get things done.
